I have this wonderful wish for all of us that our marriages will endure for a lifetime, even amidst the trials and challenges we face. These obstacles are simply part of life—they keep things interesting and make our daily adventures more exciting.
Love is not always fair—some people feel down when it comes to love, some squander the love given to them, while others are head over heels in love. But what truly matters is that we learn to love ourselves and hold onto hope, trusting that everything will eventually work out for the better.
Speaking of marriage, I'd love to share the heartwarming love story of my uncle and auntie, who grow stronger together each passing day. Last July, I had the incredible honor of witnessing their golden wedding anniversary at St. Isidore Church in Tabogon, Cebu.
My Auntie Dina gracefully strolled down the aisle of the church. Can you believe she's already 74 years young, while my uncle is a spirited 76? It was truly heartwarming to witness her radiate with the same excitement and romance that newlyweds display on their special day. Despite her age, she stood tall without a hint of wobbling in her sandals. Our hearts were filled with pure joy as we watched their vow renewal ceremony unfold. With a beaming smile, she made her way towards the altar, serenaded by her granddaughter singing a romantic tune.
What a stunning smile! It radiates pure joy as her daughter gracefully walks down the aisle. She is overflowing with gratitude to God for the successful execution of their plans. The well-being of her parents holds utmost importance, considering their old age. Reaching their 50th wedding anniversary is undeniably a precious gift and a remarkable blessing from God.
And now, here comes the most adorable grandson, beaming with pride for his grandparents. With his irresistibly puckered lips, he steals the hearts of everyone around him. Oh, how I adore that little boy! He looks incredibly dashing in his crisp white polo.
The vows lasted for nearly an hour, culminating in a delightful photo session to commemorate this special day. As it was lunchtime, everyone's stomachs eagerly grumbled, so we made our way to the reception area at their lovely house.
With the priest as witness, they sealed their union with a magical wedding kiss!
Isn't it wonderful how the sweetness of a kiss endures as we grow older? (Hehehe) I like to believe that there will always be a touch of magic that we can feel on our lips even at that age. The anticipation was palpable as both of them eagerly prepared to renew their wedding vows in the presence of God, the priest, and all their loved ones. The atmosphere was simply electric, as we sat together, witnessing this beautiful moment unfold before the altar.
At the Reception
Meanwhile, inside the reception hall, the excitement continued as the short program kicked off. The couple started with a delightful dance, followed by a breathtaking rendition of a beloved song by their lovely granddaughter. The joy and celebration were contagious, evident by the resounding applause that filled the room.
On the flip side, the guests began lining up for lunch, as it was already noontime. The caterer did a remarkable job, ensuring that everything was perfectly prepared and managed.
I am delighted to say that the renewal of their wedding vows was an absolute success! We were blessed with beautiful weather, an abundance of delicious food, good health, and everyone present thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was undoubtedly a gift from God.
It can be challenging to feel out of love with our partner, especially when children are involved. That's why it's crucial to communicate openly with one another, so we can both experience the joy of renewing our wedding vows.
No matter what challenges life may throw our way, let's always maintain a positive mindset and stay on the right path. Believe in yourself, hold on to God's mercy, and everything will fall into place.

What a sweet renewal,its a thing of joy to me whenever I see couples in their old age still loving each other,most times people say that love fades in old age but I don't believe that,I think after raising up your children as parents,they should be another phase of love and joy emanating from the success of parenting.
