Una Introducción necesaria
Aquí se unen dos solicitudes hechas por @hosgug y @palabras1, quienes nos han convocado a ampliar el número de disciplinas deportivas y a salir de nuestra zona de confort, para elevar nuestro poder creativo y nuestros conocimientos.
Por tales razones, hoy quiero compartirle un hecho deportivo significativo para los que amamos el deporte, sobre todo, para los que vivimos aquí en Cuba.
El premundial de Balonmano
Por estos días varias selecciones de nuestra área geográfica se dieron cita en México y desarrollaron el Campeonato Masculino de Norteamérica y el Caribe (NACHC) de Balonmano.
En este evento Cuba se enfrentó a Puerto Rico, Canadá, Groenlandia, Estados Unidos y México. Hay que destacar que a todos los equipos los venció con total autoridad. Solamente, Estados Unidos tuvo un partido cerrado contra el equipo nacional y vendió cara su derrota al ser superados por tres goles de diferencias.
Después de quedar invictos en la fase de grupos, Cuba fue a la final, contra el equipo local.
Cuba al Mundial de Balonmano de 2025
En el partido final se discutía mucho más que saber cuál es el mejor equipo de Balonmano del área de Norteamérica y el Caribe, pues el ganador de la medalla de oro se llevaba, además del título del torneo, el único puesto de cara al Campeonato Mundial del próximo año que acogerán tres países de Europa.
Importancia de este título para el deporte cubano

Este jugador tuvo una actuación excelente haciendo paradas increíbles y dejando su portería con la menor cantidad de goles del torneo. No por gusto fue seleccionado como el jugador más valioso, algo que es muy difícil de alcanzar, pues, este es un premio que generalmente se los llevan los jugadores de posición, fundamentalmente delanteros.
En segundo lugar, hablaría del juego combinativo de los cubanos y su capacidad goleadora que les permitió marcar más de 200 goles en los seis partidos efectuados.
Por último, la defensa del equipo estuvo muy por encima de la del resto de los equipos y el bajo número de goles recibido así lo reafirman.
A manera de conclusión
En México el Balonmano acaba de protagonizar un hecho importante, al menos para esta nueva generación de jugadores que estarán por primera vez en un campeonato mundial.
Este se ha convertido en el segundo deporte de equipo que alcanza su clasificación para un evento mundial, luego que el Voleibol lo hiciera desde el 2022. Ahora resta prepararse de la mejor manera posible y ver los equipos que nos caen en la fase de grupos del Campeonato Mundial del 2025 que acogerán Croacia, Dinamarca y Noruega.
De momento, el equipo alcanzó el objetivo de la clasificación mundialista y nos ha puesto a soñar. Ahora corresponde marcar la ruta crítica de cara al evento mundial y tratar de consolidar el equipo, para que el sueño se convierta en una hermosa realidad.
