Saudi Arabia may soon hold major wrestling spectacles such as the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.
I think that's great!
So, the Saudi Entertainment Authority wants to sweeten their WWE deal. This means some of the greatest wrestling shows could occur in Saudi Arabia.
They started working with WWE in 2018 and now want to make it even more massive. The chairman of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh, says they’re planning “something special.” He said they may bring the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania to Saudi Arabia.
That's Massive!
It appears WWE is preparing for several big shows in Saudi Arabia soon. They are having King & Queen of the Ring on May 25th in Jeddah And also there might be another Crown Jewel later this year.
You know what, however? There might be some other contenders to host these events. The company that owns WWE, called TKO, normally awards the hosting rights to the highest bidder. However, it is difficult to imagine them being outbid for such opportunities by anybody including Saudi Arabia which they have enough money for!
Now, some people may have concerns about Saudi Arabia hosting these events considering some past incidents. For instance, journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s incident involving them.
On the other hand, it looks like Ari Emmanuel who is TKO’s CEO is comfortable doing business with them once again. Maybe he has a hunch that they will turn out great.
So we stay tuned for more on this story. I can’t wait to see if Saudi Arabia will start holding such tournaments as the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania in their country. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania 41's venue has already been announced.
