Today I show you a beautiful example of creativity born from a tragedy.
We are in Imola, province of Bologna (North-Italy), a city known mainly for its famous circuit, called Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari. This place has hosted many editions of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Moto GP, concerts and shows, attracting people from all over the world.
In 2023, however, the Formula 1 race was suspended due to a serious event: the terrible flood that hit the Emilia-Romagna region.
The first floods occurred between May 2 and 3, killing two people. More severe flooding occurred on May 16 and 17, 2023, killing another 15 people and displacing another 50,000.
The same amount of rain that normally falls in seven months fell in two weeks, causing 23 rivers to overflow their banks across the region. Furthermore, 400 landslides occurred in the area and 43 cities and towns were flooded.
Ferrari team president Frederic Vasseur said in a statement: "Emilia Romagna is our homeland and it is heartbreaking to see what people are going through right now" and the Formula 1 Grand Prix was cancelled.

Oggi vi mostro un bellissimo esempio di creatività nata da una tragedia.
Siamo a Imola, provincia di Bologna, una città conosciuta principalmente per il suo famoso circuito, chiamato Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Questo luogo ha ospitato tantissime edizioni del Gran Premio di Formula 1, Moto GP, concerti e spettacoli, richiamando persone da tutto il mondo.
Nel 2023, però, la gara di Formula 1 venne sospesa per via di un grave evento: il terribile alluvione che colpì la regione Emilia-Romagna.
Le prime inondazioni si verificarono tra il 2 e il 3 maggio, uccidendo due persone. Il 16 e 17 maggio 2023 si verificarono inondazioni più gravi, che uccisero altre 15 persone e ne sfollarono altre 50.000.
La stessa quantità di pioggia che normalmente cade in sette mesi, cadde in due settimane, provocando lo straripamento di 23 fiumi in tutta la regione. Inoltre, nella zona si verificarono 400 frane e 43 città e paesi furono allagati.
Il presidente del team Ferrari, Frederic Vasseur, dichiarò in un comunicato: "L'Emilia Romagna è la nostra patria ed è straziante vedere cosa stanno attraversando le persone in questo momento" e il Gran Premio di Formula 1 venne annullato.

A year later, citizens and local institutions have worked hard, the situation has improved and only the bad memory of the fear of those days remains in people's minds.
During the flood, unfortunately, numerous everyday objects from the flooded houses were lost. A small local company called Hera, which supported the population and the territory during the emergency, decided to collect all the waste from the 2023 flood and use it for creative recycling.
A distanza di un anno, i cittadini e le istituzioni locali si sono impegnati molto, la situazione è migliorata e nella mente delle persone è rimasto solo il brutto ricordo della paura di quei giorni.
Durante l’alluvione, purtroppo, sono andati persi numerosi oggetti di vita quotidiana provenienti dalle case allagate. Una piccola azienda locale di nome Hera, che si è occupata di supportare la popolazione e il territorio durante l’emergenza, ha pensato di raccogliere tutti i rifiuti dell’alluvione del 2023 e di utilizzarli per il riciclo creativo.
Thus was born the reycled Ferrari that you can see in my photos, which is red because it’s the color of strength and passion. This monument was installed in the main square of the city, where a plaque is engraved with the words "A car symbol of the restart of the great people of Emilia-Romagna".
This recycling work has been important for making people understand that lost and damaged objects can have a second life if used creatively. Furthermore, the Ferrari symbol is famous throughout the world and is useful in ensuring that the 2023 disaster is remembered throughout the years. I hope you enjoyed this story with a happy ending!

È così nata la Ferrari ricilata che potete vedere nelle mie foto, di colore rosso perché è il colore della forza e della passione. Questo monumento è stato installato sulla piazza principale della città, dove è incisa una targhetta con scritto “Un’auto simbolo della ripartenza del grande popolo dell’Emilia-Romagna”.
Trovo che questo riciclo sia stato veramente importante per far capire alle persone che gli oggetti persi e rovinati possono avere una seconda vita se utilizzati in modo creativo. Inoltre, il simbolo della Ferrari è famoso in tutto il mondo ed è utile per fare in modo che il disastro del 2023 venga ricordato nel corso degli anni. Spero che vi sia piaciuta questa storia a lieto fine!
