Hello everyone π,
TGiF π·π» and a very warm welcome to my world π. The weekend is upon us yet again and I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive in this new month of Mayπ―. I thank you all of you for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it π¨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breezeπ was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some errands done at the mall. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept goingπΉ. The rescue from the flooding from the burst dam kept going, the death toll hit over 50π.
Globally, another blood bath in Gaza as 26 Palestinians killed in the past 24 hoursπΏ. In Rafa, gory pictures as a mother and six of her children killed in one of the strikes, body parts strewn all overπ.
Also trending, it's world press freedom day and today UNESCO awarded the prize to all journalists covering the war in Gaza. UNESCO has condemned deaths of journalists and media workers in the line of duty.
In the other war, UK Foreign secretary, Cameron, has said it is up to Ukraine to decide how to use British weapons, including striking targets in Russian territoryπΉ.
During a visit to Kyiv, he added the UK would provide Β£3 billion per year for as long as necessary. Wow.
Pro Palestinian protests have started taking root in Europeπ. In Paris there were arrests in sciences Po university.
In the UK, students at Goldsmiths university said the administration had ceded to their demandsπΉ. Among other stuff accepting to give 2 scholarships to Palestinian students.
In Berlin, there were protests too.
Across the pond in the US, where the students protests started; New York university encampment was dismantled by police as they arrested over 200 studentsπ.
Most of them defiant, vowing to keep going and demanding for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Across many states the protests are going on.
Finally in crazy weather, severe floods reported in Brazil. There are reports of landslides and partial collapse of a damπ
Flooding also reported in Texas in the US. Hopefully everything goes back to normal. All's well that ends well π―.
So that's it, see you again tomorrow on an amazing Caturday π, get ready for furry boy, BobπΉ. Until then keep stepping and enjoying yourselves to the max π―.So that's it, stay safe, take care and good bye πππ Hakuna Matata.π.
