Operation day, Chularat 3 hospital, Bangkok
Dear friends,
Yesterday, my brother had undergone operation for his back pain. Before that, he has to cut food and water eight hours prior to the operation. In the morning, he had to undergo necessary medical check-ups to make sure he was fit well for the back surgery operation. The operation took place at 3.45 pm and my brother came out of the room at about 7.45 pm. It took about 4 hours maybe because the surgery took place at two or three backbone discs L3, L4 and L5.
I was worried first because it took a long time for the operation; I expected the time to be around 3 hours (because I was said so). After the operation, he was taken to ICU department for recovering from the anesthetics. He vomited once but after that he felt better and now, he has to rest in bed for a day. It was said the recovery rate after the operation could be fast but he had to refrain from lifting heavy objects. We will be at the hospital for three days; the hospital room is wide enough to accommodate us - it has two bathroom and a dining room also.
The staff and nurses there were nice and ready to help.
Those were some of the activities for yesterday.
