The Forgotten Photoshoot with Alex and Georgia

I may have mentioned this before for anyone noticing or bothering to read what I write here but on photoshoots with models I get a bit trigger happy. I shoot literally a thousand images leaving me to later sift through shot after shot of seemingly similar images. Roll forward a few years and I stumble across a bunch of long forgotten images sat on a hard drive gathering digital dust which seem to beggar belief as to why I never posted the images anywhere!

A long forgotten photoshoot with Alex and Georgia was one such occassion. I have hundreds of unedited photos just sat there waiting to be rediscovered.

I read an article on a social media web site elsewhere about the importance of printing one's images since those are the most tangible things to hold. This collection of images is a reminder to myself that maybe I should print off a selection of images for future reference. The folder of images is buried deep amongst a bunch of others and unless I see a reminder of a memorable photoshoot, I will mostly likely forget this session altogether in years to come. I don't have an answer to this ponderance but for now I've edited a selection from the hundreds I shot:

Georgia

There aren't many occassions where my jaw drops to the floor upon meeting a model. I'm usually cool and trying to be professional not the jabbering wreck I was when I met Georgia! I can't think why!!

The midday sun outside this abandoned factory was bright and models tend to squint at the camera which is always best avoided. Somehow Georgia kept her eyes wide open!

Lately I've been using custom Photoshop presets, this is a dark and moody preset:

I've found that lately I do less editing of images than I used to. Here all I've done is apply a home brewed golden tones preset in Photoshop and applied a bit of sharpening:

That's quite enough of Georgia for now. I may raise my blood pressure to unhealthy levels....

Alex

Alex arrived late to this photoshoot and blamed it on getting lost trying to find the abandoned building. Understandable I suppose but this was the first photoshoot with a model where I remember not being able to work out if the model was being deliberately moody for the photos or was just plain miserable! You decide.....

I like to think I can "read" people fairly well. It's been part of my job in sales but with Alex, I was stumped!

I'm pretty sure being able to read faces isn't necessary when the model has a great chassis such as hers!!

I posted images of Alex and Georgia more or less at the same time. Alex's images seem to out perform Goergia's even though I thought Georgia was the classier looking gal. It must have something to do with this shot!

I remember using a Sony 85mm f1.8 lens for this shot and had to stand what seemed like miles away to frame this up!

About me:
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex, landscape and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; the social side of photography is always good!
