Wind Turbine plant

Wind Turbine plant

Good Morning
Today I am going to share a few shots of the Vineyard Wind turbine construction site here in New Bedford taken from various angles and at different times over the last year or so.
Often on walks I see this site and get photos and seldom share them, especially on Farcebook, as the tend to lead to heated discussions.
And one thing I do find quite amusing is, people on both ends of opinions about Wind Turbines and the pros and cons, often share articles that they clearly have no read fully, as the headign may seem to lean towards their line of thought but rerading the full article may say the opposite to what they want to hear, many online new sites like to use headlines to draw clicks and clearly it seems to me that it works well

I wont get into my opinion on the pros or cons, will just share some photos of them and some info

In May 2021, the Departments of the Interior and Commerce announced the approval of the construction and operation of the first large-scale, offshore wind project in the United States, located offshore Massachusetts. The 800-megawatt Vineyard Wind 1 Offshore Wind Energy Project will be located approximately 12 nautical miles offshore Martha's Vineyard and 12 nautical miles offshore Nantucket in the northern portion of Vineyard Wind’s lease area

The power started flowing late on Tuesday. For now, the Vineyard Wind project, located off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard,Massachusetts, can send only five megawatts of power to the grid from a single towering wind turbine. But the companies behind the project, Avangrid and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, plan to install a total of 62 turbines with 800 megawatts of capacity, or roughly enough electricity to power 400,000 homes, by the end of this year

As you can see at different times these photos were taken the numbe rof towers changes up and down as new ones are built and finished ones are shipped out

Always Welcome dear

Very cool! We were driving down state this past summer and we saw a couple being built out in a farm field. I'm actually kind of surprised that this was allowed to happen in your part of the country. I mean it makes sense, but people are so adamant about the way things look out that way.

Ohh there are many in an uproar over them, and get very vocal about it but more sharing stories wiyth little facts against them more than and view concerns

That makes sense.

wow it's very amazing USA Thank you so much for presenting this amazing photography to us. May God's great creation reach the hearts of mankind in a beautiful way. Have a great day

I always support to appreciated thank you so much sir.. may God bless you with my heart.

I always like these photos. The tall gleaming white towers are somehow futuristic looking. We lived in an area of California that had some big wind farms. Interesting they are building these onshore and then moving them out to sea. In the hills of California they had to use big helicopters to move some of the parts like the big turbine blades.

thanks and I do agree they do look futuristic

when I worked in the field I remembe ronce on a big tower we built we had a helicopter fly in one of the big antennas, beign 300ft in the air with a helicopter flying over head and grabbing the lowered antenna and hookingit up was quite an adventure

Wow that sounds crazy 🙂

Beautiful photography as always, I should take lessons and up my game!

thanks and you do great :)

The image capture was quite good and I also saw the shadow of the building in the water.

You're welcome.. have a nice day.

Beautiful photos @tattoodjay . Wishing you an awesome weekend.

thanks and you to have a good weekend

Beautiful shots! Good thing they won't be onshore, at least at twelve miles out they won't obstruct any views which is nice. It's amazing how big they are isn't it?

Ohh yeah they are huge

The reflection in the water is awesome, especially in the third photo!

Hey @tattoodjay
I always admire your photos.
There are good and bad sides to everything. Some people like it, but some don't like it. People often argue about them. The Internet has made it possible to discuss this much more than before. This also has its pros and cons.

Cheers and !BEER
