RE: COMMUNITY RULES UPDATE for PHOTOGRAPHY LOVERS

@castleberry Hi. I have been a bit irregular these past 2 months with my posts and catching up on the community due to a lot of travel and also health issues. I appreciate everything that you, other pillars of the community and all the members are trying to do here. I personally have learnt a lot from being part of this community and would like to keep growing with it. At first I was not sure of my brand of wildlife and some nerdy photography stuff would get appreciated but the love and appreciation shown by all of you has really given me a morale boost.

I have a question. I have not been active on Steemit or Blurt - you can see that I have not posted for over a year - ever since I came back from a very long hiatus (3-4 years) of all social media in general (due to a personal tragedy). I came back and found there was suddenly Hive and blurt and POB and what not. Was very confusing for me. Initially I just tried posting everywhere and trying to make sense of each platform. Luckily, some old friends from Alliance community and also members from this community helped me to settle down in Hive and I stopped posting on other platforms totally. However, I have not powered down or moved my crypto assets on other platform - simply because I am not really well versed with transfers and crypto in general. It scares me and I always get tense that I may make some mistake somewhere in the process and lose everything. So - is it possible to get some guidance somewhere on how to move assets (meager but still important to my cause) from other platforms to Hive - is that possible at all? Or should I simply leave them there? Since I am not posting anything there, would I still be considered an 'active member' there?

Sorry for the long comment but thought this community is my home and the best place to seek advice.

Regards,

@vm2904 thanks for responding here. I took a break for about a year and came back to the same confusing chaos you did. It took a while to get the facts and then know where and why the right place to be is Hive.

I just checked your accounts and if i were you, i would power down and liquidate the Steem and Tron in your wallet. It would be worth it to figure out how to move it. I sold all my Steem for Hive a long time ago and doubled my account value here. I am not sure which exchange you use but i think there are some options Here on Hive like LeoFinance or external like Binance. I used Bittrex but it was a long time ago.

I'm like you, it can get all confusing to know how to move things around and not make a mistake and/or lose some along the way. So, you haven't been active there and this rule change wouldn't impact you. If you want to power down and sell your stuff for anything else of your choice... that won't count you as active.

I gave this notice early so people that wanted to stay could power down and have enough time for that to not impact their status. I hope this helps explain a little.

Thanks. The explanation certainly helped. Happy to know the rule change will not impact me. I will, however, try to find out how to power down and move my assets to Hive account. Thanks for all the support and encouragement. You have always been a big help and I would have hated to lose guidance of stalwarts like you. I try to bring posts on photography with a variation and with a lot of hard work - would have hated to lose the avenue that this community provides. Thanks once again. Cheers.
