Landscape in the Rhön-a Photowalk

Hello everybody, I hope you are all doing great!
Today I went out to the Rhön to take some Landscape photos.

The Rhön is a low mountain range covering about 1500 km² in the border region of the German states of Bavaria, Hesse and Thuringia. Most of it is core area, but in Bavaria also parts of its non-volcanic, southern slope, are located in the Rhön Biosphere Reserve, which covers about 2433 km².

The Rhön is a very hilly area, which means scenes like this can be observed very often.

The Milseburg is a 835.2 m above sea level mountain in the Rhoen Mountains. It is located near Danzwiesen in the municipality of Hofbieber in the Hessian district of Fulda. Due to the quite high difference of heights you often have that beautiful gradient of the amount of snow.

The most common rock in the Rhön is basalt.
This can often be found in bizarre piles.
Likewise you can find of isolated rocks on meadows.

Due to the rather harsh weather and acidic soil, one can find here mainly fir and spruce trees and shrubs.
This vegetation gives the Rhön its well-known charm

Due to increasingly frequent strong winds, images like these are not uncommon.

Overall the Rhön is a very good place for taking images of all kinds and I really enjoy walking around there…

Anyways that‘s it again…I hope you liked the images and thanks for reading.
Feel free to leave some thoughts or feedback behind.
I would also love to hear which is you favorite image.
See you soon.

(All images are mine and were shot on the Sony a7RIII with either the 24-70 f/2.8 lens or the Viltrox 85 f/1.8 lens)
