It's been a little while since my last post here on Market Friday, but I'm back with a new post. I've been wanting to post about this place for a while, but every time I go there, I forget to take some pictures. Not this time, today I went there again and took a bunch of pictures to show everyone this great market.
Do you like fish? How about fresh fish? The freshest it can get! If you want to get fresh fish, you have to eat local fish. The Tuna Harbor Dockside Market is an open-air seafood market located at the Port of San Diego, right next to the Seaport Village and it happens every Saturday from 8am until 2pm. If you get there early, it's pretty easy to find parking spots, during lunchtime it gets harder. It's also better to get there early, so you get a better selection to choose. You can also order online and pick up there. There you will find a few stands from local fisherman with fresh fish to buy. You can usually see a couple of boats there too. There are a few stands selling entire fishes, some really big ones, stands selling fish loins and lobsters, and this time I also saw one selling sea urchins. If you get a whole fish, there is a stand where you can take your fish to break it down, where fish cutters will make your life easier.
At the end of the dock, there is a stand to get ready food to eat right there, they have a few tables right there, or you can sit at the dock. The view is amazing. Their menu includes, fish and chips, poke bowls, ceviche, lobster rolls and much more. All of it is very tasty. Today I didn't eat anything there, but last time I was there, we shared a fish and chips and a lobster roll.
Today I bough some fish loins. I got Albacore Tuna, Ahi Tuna and Yelowtail. The plan is to make some sandwiches with the albacore, and while it's fresh, we make them seared rare steaks. Afterwords we can cook them and make some albacore mayo salad. The Ahi Tuna and the Yellowtail we will probably make poke bowls, or some handrolls (temaki).
There are more activities near by if you want to extend your day there, the Seaport Village has a lot of restaurants and shops. It's a great place to walk around and eat some good food, from seafood to burgers and desserts. You can also walk down Harbor Dr to the USS Midway Museum, and the Maritime Museum Of San Diego. Downtown San Diego is right there and there is much more to do.

Já faz um tempinho desde meu último post aqui no Market Friday, mas estou de volta com um novo post. Ja venho querendo postar sobre esse lugar, mas sempre que vou lá, esqueço de tirar algumas fotos. Desta vez não, hoje fui lá novamente e tirei um monte de fotos para mostrar a todos esse mercado.
Você gosta de peixe? Que tal peixe fresco? O mais fresco possível! Se quiser obter peixe fresco, você precisa comer peixe local. O Tuna Harbor Dockside Market é um mercado de frutos do mar ao ar livre localizado no Porto de San Diego, bem ao lado do Seaport Village, e acontece todos os sábados das 8h às 14h. Se você chegar cedo, é muito fácil encontrar vagas para estacionar, durante o almoço, fica mais difícil. Também é bom chegar cedo, assim você terá uma seleção melhor de peixes para escolher. Você também pode fazer o pedido on-line e retirar no local. Lá você encontrará algumas barracas de pescadores locais com peixes frescos para comprar. Hoje comprei Atum Albacora, Atum Ahi e Atum de Rabo Amarelo. O plano é fazer alguns sanduíches com a Albacora e, enquanto ele estiver fresco, faremos ele só selado bem mal passado. Depois, podemos cozinhá-los e fazer uma salada de maionese de albacora. Para o Atum Ahi e o Atum de Rabo Amarelo, provavelmente faremos poke bowls ou alguns handrolls (temaki).
Há mais atividades nas proximidades se você quiser estender seu dia lá, o Seaport Village tem muitos restaurantes e lojas. É um ótimo lugar para passear, e comer uma comidas deliciosas, de frutos do mar a hamburgers e sobremesas. Você também pode caminhar pela Harbor Dr. até o USS Midway Museum e o Maritime Museum Of San Diego. Downtown San Diego também é bem pertinho e tem muita coisa para fazer.

The albacore 3lb for $20 is a great deal as well. Next time I will get some swordfish, it looked very good today.
