Paper straws and plastic flaws

Ingenuity is something Australians are more than familiar with, that's why us silly Aussies ditched plastic bags for paper bags at supermarkets at an exorbitant price of $0.25 each. Now for you homeschooling families... please use this information as a method of teaching your kids how to make BIG money under the pretence of saving our planet.

Then we decided to ditch plastic straws for paper ones.

GREAT !!!

Nothing like slurping a strawberry thickshake through a paper straw that disintegrates into a mushy mess in your mouth before you're halfway through your mouth watering thickshake.

BUT... let's not complain. Competence is priority in our culture and background knowledge of the Aussie would soon reveal we are a problem solving society. Yep!

We used to have wax-coated paper cups to make our traditional yummy takeaway thickshakes... that was seen as bad for our environment... Imagine all those trees cut down just to make cups for the giant fast-food industry! Now we have lovely see-through plastic cups...

WITH A GORGEOUS LID!

Now let's poke a paper straw into this and you have helped save trees, protected the environment and feel good about it. The year 2024 should be celebrated for amazing achievements that are considered effective and rewarding for our kids future.

Now go and utilise this information as a project for your kids to calculate the effectiveness and cost to our environment. Paper straws and plastic flaws is just one example you can use to teach your point of view. Everyone's thoughts regarding this topic is different so allow for debate and heated arguments.

Enjoy another homeschool project with your kids and make sure to reward them with their favourite thickshake once done.
