While living overseas, I worked with a non-profit organization that operated a conversational English Club. I saw how important it was for people to learn new vocabulary, and as a homeschooling Dad, I see how important it is for my kids to learn new vocabulary.

In this video, I will provide four definitions for the word KEEN, example sentences so you can practice listening, and a special synonym quiz at the end of the video.
Keen is an adjective. An adjective is a word that describes a noun.
Definition #1
highly developed (when speaking of about a person’s senses or intelligence)
- The man's keen sight allows him to see objects from far away.
- The woman's keen intellect was admired by her colleagues.
- The boy's keen sense of smell was very enjoyable when he was around baked goods, but not when he was around trash.
Definition #2
having a fine edge or point; sharp (specifically when talking about a blade)
- The woodworker was proud of all of the keen blades in his shop.
- Whether keen or not, all knives need to be handled carefully.
Definition #3
very eager or enthusiastic
- The company has a large number of keen consumers, who always purchase the latest product.
- The baseball team’s keen fans were very disappointed when they lost to their rivals.
Definition #4
interested in or attracted (to someone or something)
- The young man has been keen on the girl next door since they were in elementary school.
- Chloe was not able to hide that she was keen on her favorite musician.
