Hello EDS'ers. Today is the day we issue the EDS weekly report to keep all your guys up to date and let you know how things are going.
What are EDS tokens?
EDS tokens are HIVE income tokens that pays out weekly dividends every Monday based on 12% of the total power up the balance of the @eddie-earner account. This is currently paying out an APY to token holders of over 25%.
(Example of how the HIVE income pool is worked out)
- EDS is pegged to 1 HIVE per token
- 12% of over 113,000 HIVE POWER pays out (113,000*12/52.18) 259.86 per week
- EDS in circulation each yield (260/54000) 0.0048 HIVE per week
- 0.0048 each week for 1 year (52.18) equals 0.25 HIVE
- 1 EDS pays out a HIVE income of roughly 25% per year
EDS tokens launched with a hardcap of 500,000 and a public sale of 20,000 tokens each issued for 1 HIVE each. There are 2 ways to mint new EDS tokens. 1 is by owning and staking either EDS miners (EDSM) are EDS mini miners (EDSMM) tokens and 2 is delegations HIVE POWER to @eds-vote. EDS Miners yield roughly 20% per year and EDS-vote yields around 4-5%.
EDS converts all earnings, airdrops, tribe tokens into HIVE. This account is 100% focused on powering up as much HIVE as possible. It's just that single-minded. This projects weekly saving club content is run by @shanibeer and wallet by @silverstackeruk both on behalf of SPinvest. This is a long term project and should be viewed as a token to stack up and HODL. Buy some miners, let them mint you some EDS tokens, build a pile and collect weekly HIVE dividends. In other words, buy some EDSM miners and forget about it. Add a few every week/month and watch your EDS pile grow. You can also buy EDS directly from the market, if you add a buy order for any amount at 1 HIVE each, it'll get filled. It might take a few days but it'll get filled as some miners like to sell their mining rewards right away to lock in them profits.

Let's get a look at the charts this week
Big EDS mintage this week with 544 being issued to EDS miners, @eds-vote delegators and EDSD holders. Only a few weeks back our average weekly mintage was around 420 so to be closer to 550 is a huge increase. These extra tokens are being minted from @eds-vote as it has grown alot over the past 2-3 weeks. This is of course a good thing because @eddie-earner powers up 2 HIVE for each 1 EDS @eds-vote mints but sadly there is a time delay of 13 weeks between minting the token and powering up the HIVE.
Long story short, we will feel a little pain for a few months because of this increased mintage. I'll explain more below.
A private lease we had no longer needs the HP so a large chunk of the HP this week was on cooldown and not earning. All is sorted but we've had to take a hit on the APY to get it delegated out fast and this will impact the amount of HIVE being powered up each week. I guess we'll lose 30-40 HIVE on the APY. Not great news but the private lease was a good APY. Overall, this will impact the EDS APY by a fraction, I'll see it when filling in the Excel sheet but you'll maybe not even notice.
Oh, powered up 199 HIVE. Sounds ok but it's normally closer to 380.
A small increase of 0.34 HIVE this week. We've been getting used to increases of 0.80 HIVE per week but this week is a freak occurrence and it's not likely we'll ever have 75% of the HP on cooldown at 1 time again. This week's HIVE income pool is 266.32.
OK, the pain from the top chart. This week we see a larger-than-normal decline in the EDS APY of -0.21%. This is almost double what it is normally so very big movement.
As explained above, we are minting more EDS from @eds-vote and putting them into the circulating supply immediately. It takes 12-13 weeks of earning curation rewards before we can start a powerdown. This means for the next 11-12 weeks, we might continue to see the EDS APY decline at these levels.
In 12ish weeks when we start a new powerdown for a much larger amount and it starts being fed into @eddie-earner, we'll see the EDS APY drop back to declining by -0.11%.
On the flip side of this pain, we still earn HIVE from delegations 3 months after they are removed. Well, sort of. To give an example, let's say all delegations were pulled from @eds-vote today down to 0 HP. The account right now has 3700 HP sitting in it earned from curation rewards. That would feed @eddie-earner 284 HIVE a week for 13 weeks.
I know im talking alot about @eds-vote alot but it's an important part of EDS and right now, our main road to faster growth.
How do you build a HIVE income that only ever increases over time?
If the EDS project sounds right up your street, there are 2 ways to get your hands on EDS tokens. Building a HIVE income is one of those things when it's better to get started sooner than later. We all put money aside for a pension/old age with the money we earn from jobs, why not do the same with blockchain earnings? If blockchain is the future, why not be playing the game of life 3 steps ahead of everyone else? There's no day like day to start increasing your income and the snowball effect is real when you have patience.

Weekly Roundup
Cant say we smashed it this week 😭, we did ok 😐 i guess.
Everything still worked as it was supposed to, we minted more EDS, the HIVE income pool increased and the EDS APY declined (yes, that is supposed to happen as per the model)
You know what? we smashed it this week! We minted nearly 550 EDS this week and every one of them is backed with 1 HIVE and paying out a 20%+ liquid HIVE weekly income payment. We earned 441.41 HIVE from curation rewards, double what we were earning only 3 weeks back. And you know what? EDSD just crossed over 6000 tokens issued so thats 6k HBD in the @eds-d wallet earning HBD interest, minting EDS and of course, powering up HIVE to @eddie-earner.
Yeah, smashed it!!

I hope we see this big drop to under 0.1% buddy when we start the bigger powerdowns. I was supposed to start a new one yesterday and forgot all about it so no HIVE from @eds-vote next week. This is not good.
And yeah, eds-vote is killing it. Everytime I check it, theres more HP. It sitting at $296k right now!!!
