We have made some improvements on Hivesigner and more to come. Here is short list of changes, thank you for peakd, 3speak and number of people who are actively suggesting improvements and reporting issues.
What's new
- Added Transfer from savings operation
- Added Change recovery account operation
- Added Update account2 operation
- Replaced keychain with keystore that confused many thinking it is Hive Keychain password which it wasn't
- Authority signing fix, you can see what permission each operation need before you login to submit that transaction
- Wording improvements on Authorizing and Revoke screen, thanks to @starkerz for his detailed feedback
- Initial version of extension already available on Chrome Store
- We are preparing new update to Chrome Store with some fixes
- Desktop app is discontinued, usage stats shows that it wasn't used by many. And I think, we can focus our efforts improving web, extension and start mobile application.

Yes, many of the accounts has
steemas their recovery account. Now we moved away from Steem, good idea to update it to some other account you trust. In case account gets hacked, you could ask for help from recovery account.Yes true. On Steem we had a handy option to update it from steemworld website. For Hive there is no straight forward option yet I guess. Now introducing it in hivesigner is great. I'm going to be making a post about this. Thanks. 😀
Yes, a lot we can do to make hivesigner powerful, that's why we created proposal to support our development to deliver those features quicker

I prefer hivesigner than the other, it's more user friendly and fast. Operation is like steemconnect.
What is the keystore password? My girlfriend is trying to log into peakd.com with hivesigner on iOS and she is being asked for her 'keystore password', which I'm not familiar with.
Keystore is just like pin code which encrypts user keys on browser and in future only keystore/pin is asked for signing transaction. This is only required if you enable checkbox to save account on device.
Do you know what she can do if she already went through and ticked that box but now doesn't remember the keystore password? She has the private keys to her account still obviously.
She can try to clear browser cache, because keys are stored on browser encrypted with keystore/pin code. It should resolve the issue. For example, you can click on Cookies and remove relevant fields and reload page like on this image.
@good-karma is steemconnect dead after hivesigner updates?
We will eventually sunset it, I think.
