Sri yaganti umamaheshwara temple,( 5th century) is located in yerramala hills in INDIA. Yaganti is 55 kms from Nandyal town in Kurnool district and easily reachable by road.It is the only temple where Lord Shiva is worshipped in Ardhanarishwara idol.No crow enters the area as per the curse of Saint Agastya,who did his penance here.A Nandi idol at the Umamaheswara temple in Yaganti in Kurnool is growing. It’s now a full-on tourist attraction.
Officials from the Archaeological Survey of India have confirmed that the idol increases its size by an inch every 20 years. The department collects data along with the size of the idols every 15 years.
