Hey everyone! One thing I have learned owning a dolly over the years is that pretty much every season the tires need to be replaced. The tubes crack when not in use and will go flat. Nothing is more frustrating than owning a dolly and needing it only to find the tires flat.

One distinguishing feature that stands out between an expensive dolly and a very cheap dolly is the ability to change the tires. Expensive dollys often have a feature that allows you to replace flat tires relatively simply. This is a feature cheap ones do not have and you will find a lot of them have flat washers to hold the tires on to the frame. These washers are one time use and very hard to find so it is more feasible to buy a new one than repair the old. New tires are often the same price as a whole new cheap dolly.

A simple way to repurpose a dolly with one time use washers is to simply drill a small hole strait through the axle and place a cotter pin in it to retain the tires. This way the tires on the dolly can be replaced again and again without purchasing a whole new dolly. I hope you enjoyed this steepshot!
