Your Expectation Becomes Your Experience

in #motivation25 days ago

You will be surprised that a lot of people do not even have anything they are expecting in life; they live their life in a fashion of "any thing goes," and so they have not experienced anything worthwhile in life. What you expect to take out of life will determine what you will give into life, which will become your result in life. No wonder it has been said that "your expectation is what leads to your manifestation." If you have nothing to expect from life, then you will not be motivated to put anything into life. But when you are expectant of good things happening, you will give life your best and you will not be discouraged by any other thing.

As a student for example, it is your expectation of graduating with good grades that will make you to burn your midnight candles and study extensively. This will result in the good grades that you have desired. But someone that just wants to go to school without expecting anything will not feel the need to put in their best and they will just get a manageable result. Life also works in the same way; if what you expect is extraordinary, then you have to go the extra mile and put in extra effort, so as to get the good and extraordinary result that you have expected.

I remember many years back, when I was in junior high school, we went to stay briefly with my Grandparents during our school vacation. Incidentally, during that time was the planting season, and my Grandpa, being a farmer, used to go to his farm. In one of the days, I followed him to help out in the farm. When I got there, I discovered that he put extra effort to "fine-tune" his plantings, and be would meticulously space out the seeds, apply the fertiliser strategically. When I ask him why the extra efforts, he told me that he is expecting a good yield, so he should also undertake good planting activities.

After staying in the village for a few days and returned to our base, I forgot about the farm and all that. However, by the next vacation period, we also travelled to the village to stay with our Grandparents, and it also coincided with the harvest season. My Grandpa reminded me about the discussion we had during the planting season about his extra activities. He then told me to follow him to the farm to see the result. When we got there, it was an impressive sight to behold. When we started harvesting, the yields were bigger and better than the neighbouring farms. What brought about the result was that he put in the required input, which was also influenced by his expectations of bumper harvest.

If there is nothing you are expecting in life, then you are merely existing. This is why, for everything that you are doing, you should create an expectation; a goal, dream, target, etc, which will motivate you to put in your best. If you have watched any football league title final game, you will notice that each of the players would be literally playing their hearts out. This is simply because they are expecting to lift the trophy and as such, it will give them the zeal to put in everything within them to play their best game so as to win the trophy. If nothing is driving you to achieve success, then success might just be a mirage.

The difference between the person that have achieved success and the rest of the others is the action that they have put into their expectations. But you must have to have an expectation first, so that your actions can back it up. In life, there are lots of opportunities that can be drawn from it, but you must first believe that you can actually have the opportunities. This will make you to be hopeful and then be ready to take advantage of the opportunities as they come. If you do not know that opportunities are coming, when they come, you will not know what to do with them. Your expectation will make you to make the most of every moment.

Very true expectations is the one thing that keeps us moving. The more you expect, the more you have to work hard. That's for sure. As you narrated your experience with grandpa, the same thing I had with my father. Who in his late 80's is after farming meticulously. Nice share.

Well said. Our expectations make us to put our best to work hard to get the result.
Thanks a lot buddy.

Ya very true my friend

And that is why we must always work and make sure that we dream big. We must not be limited by having small imagination and expectations
