One of my old time favorite movies ever is Terminator. I rewatch it almost every year so when i watched it this time i focused on the editing. The editing of The Terminator combine with a script packed with kinetic energy is in my opinion the thing that made it become what it is. The editor is the director of two other 80s movies i love Dead Heat and The Punisher and has edited hundreds of others famous movies. The film feels very fast paced for a 1984 B-Movie every cut has a perfect purpose, no cut, no scene is wasted the dialogue is perfectly balance with the action. I also notice that scene in the beginning when Kyle is escaping the cops at night looks dark but every detail is captured perfectly and looks beautiful with the red and blue lights of the cop car lighting the scene, maybe has to do with type of camera they used back then vs the ones they used now but a lot of dark scenes in newer action movies look like shit compare to this one.
