Ke Xu shares her philosophy

I've spent quite a bit of my time and energy dissecting the whitepaper for ONO over the last week. Today I thought I would take things in a different direction and discuss what initially got me to start looking into the platform in the first place. The philosophy that Ke Xu is talking about and approaching development with is very in line with my own. I feel that we all have opportunities come up and some times we get the chance to work with others that want the same things we want and some times something truly different happens and we have a chance to work with people that believe the same things we believe.

It seems that wanting the same things isn't always enough to have a truly aligned vision of how to get from point A to point B. On the other hand, we could choose to align ourselves with others that believe the same things we believe and trust that the rest will work itself out. The greatest thing of all is that these two things don't even have to be mutually exclusive, why not pursue both if we have the time and energy to do so? In the end I feel that things will grow organically and pull us in the direction we are meant to be moving either way.

That being said, learning about Ke Xu's philosophy and goals for building a decentralized platform that can bridge the gap between people that normally have restricted or limited communication to provide something of value to the world really resonates with me. You can hear her talking in the video above around the 49 minute mark and her vision seems pretty clear to me. Build a platform for people first and foremost, empower them to share their own thoughts, ideas, and creativity, and give them the tools to use it for their own best interests. The platform is being built to empower users and bridge the gap between people to grow communities.

It's also very clear that the way this is being approached is to disrupt the powers that be that are currently separating the Eastern and Western people. Using blockchain and the iOS and Android platform is going to allow for unfiltered communication between people that is normally restricted and able to be shut down by a government firewall. Personally, this all resonates with me on a core level and the fact that the platform will be monetized by optional advertisements as opposed to stake weight puts users on a much more level playing field. This is compassionate development to me in every sense of the word. How rich you are or how early you get involved has nothing to do with your ability to create and succeed on the platform. I feel that all of this is leading to a much more collaborative and less competitive view of personal creativity and interaction. I'll leave you with something she said that I feel sums up how I feel entirely:

Man, you are getting me pumped for ono, a little healthy competition never hurt anyone (except myspace, and the list goes on...)

They launched but we can't use it yet can we??

In that interview she says the international version will be available in May.

Using blockchain and the iOS and Android platform is going to allow for unfiltered communication between people that is normally restricted and able to be shut down by a government firewall.

This would be a dream in North Korea.

So many people toss around the words "I care" but it is very rarely I run into people that seem to mean it in every possible way. The more I hear about she is trying to build and the people she is empowering really makes me believe those words mean something in this context.

Time will tell, but I'm hopeful. :)

@clayboyn A huge yes to connection and collaboration!

It's good to finally see her and get a feeling for who she is, just a first impression. I still have some concerns and I could have done without all the bragging (kind of a cultural thing I guess) but they seem like a serious team with good energy. At least these seem like capable people and they certainly have a great bunch of steemians supporting them. At the very least it inspired me to take a more serious look at the whitepaper.

Let me know if there are any interviews she did in Chinese.

That's awesome, will do!

Thanks for writing this article.

You're welcome! It's an awesome project and the philosophy behind it resonates with me.

Me too :

I CARE!!!!

Thanks for the info @clayboyn 😊 I haven't had time to read the white paper yet but the more I hear the more I like.

Have you come across any indication of plans for private networks ( more like Facebook) ?

I haven't heard of any plans, but there is end to end encrypted messaging for all users, so I imagine it's possible in theory.

Im already ready already. 😎

Do we need eos for this? It's too technical sometimes.

Well we see what happens when Facebook provides a similar service with no public accountability... so I would think yes, and we need a blockchain that can scale to millions of active users so that is why EOS was chosen.

How rich you are or how early you get involved has nothing to do with your ability to create and succeed on the platform. I feel that all of this is leading to a much more collaborative and less competitive view of personal creativity and interaction.

Amen to that. We're currently trying to make our @steemmakers community succeed on the steem blockchain. We're putting so much energy in it because we believe in it and we want to stimulate creativity in many different aspects. But without backing from big accounts everything seems to stay under the radar. It's strange, some people want to be creative but at the same time want to do it in such a way they make the most money out of it.

Wonderful post..i like your new post..all the best..
upvote and resteemit.

Maybe you should state those philosophies at the start of your text? A sort of tl;dr ?

Because people like me don't like to waste one hour of time on a video that may be totally uninteresting. If I don't know what is in it, I certainly don't watch it.

So don't read it or watch it if it's a waste of your time. No one forcing you to do anything you don't want to do.
