Croatia #2 - Trogir - Urban Exploration

in #photofeedlast month

Hi All!

Continuation of the photo relation from our first day in Croatia...
First part of the gallery: HERE

We continued our walk down the road towards the narrow streets of old town situated by the water canal and bridge.

The look of the old part of the town is amazing - like all the other old towns by the Mediterranean Sea and Adriatic Sea - they are simply beautiful.

Original architecture and the vibe of history is waiting for us behind every corner...

Many of the buildings are still inhabited by the locals, some of them are abandoned already and some others are probably used only seasonal by the tourists.

Roads there are very narrow but still are used as a traffic roads not only for motorcycles but also for smaller cars.

It is amazing how they fit in there and drive among such tiny spaces...

The main part of Old Town and old city centrum is located in the mainland. Buildings there are much bigger, higher and well preserved.
Whole area is large and the streets generate natural urban maze... it is easy to miss the road and loose the orientation.

Between the buildings we can find many restaurants, caffees, gift shops, boutiques and ,amy old monuments.

The whole Old Town is located in a penninsula and surrounded by water of the Sea from one side and the canal from the other.

All this area is used as a harbour for smaller and bigger boats.

There are few bigger monuments to visit but we haven't been to any of them. We are not that kind of tourists who like to buy every ticket too see every attraction from inside ;)... it was a lot to do outside them and we found ourselves to feel really tired after whole day walking and still, we had a way back home to do ;).

In summary I think such an urban exploration of old towns in Croatia is one of the most satysfing and interesting activities.

If someone is interested in history and architecture - will feel here like in heaven! :)

From my - photographic - point of view, towns and streets there are very beautiful and are good main subject for photography. Especially when we will explore them in late evening, golden light or night time...

That is how our first day in Trogir passed. Stay tuned for next photo relation... On the second day we went to a more natural looking beach on the island - Kava Beach :)...

Until the next one! CHEERS!
