Victorian Goldfields Railway - part 1

in #photographylast year

The Maldon railway station was originally opened in 1884. Passenger services were stopped in 1941, after the line was used for goods traffic until 1976.In 1986 the station was re-opened by the Victorian Goldfields Railway (VGR) for tourist services between Maldon and Castlemaine.
We started our look around of the railway station with a peek in the maintenance shed and the yards where old carriages are kept.
It was fun walking up and down the rows of rail trucks which had several different uses. Even though they were no longer in service the carriages were in a good condition.
