Victorian Goldfields Railway - part 2

in #photographylast year

Maldon station is a pretty and well-kept little station. The station master does a good job of maintaining the atmosphere of days gone by. One example of this is, are the trolleys of luggage on display to promote the idea of a working station.
There is also a permanent display of a steam locomotive at the end of the platform.
We were lucky to see the tourist train as it only runs on Wednesdays and Sundays. It was a Wednesday when we were there.

Originating from Castlemaine, the train leaves at 11.30 am and heads to Maldon.
At Maldon you have 2 hours to explore and have lunch before returning to Castlemaine by 3.30pm.
Below are some pictures of the train, which made us wish that we had been on it. A must do on our next visit.
