Mirrored Reflection - A Poem

in #poetry6 years ago

Everyone sees a different me,
How drastic is the difference?
Can I pretend to know my face,
When I have never seen it?

My face is mirrored when I look at it,
Does that make it a lie?
Do two versions of me exist,
Or just the one I can not see?

Am I what others see,
Or the reflection in the mirror?
Is the real me the one I see,
And everyone else wearing a mask?

If the mirror broke,
And my reflection splintered,
Would anything be left?

Some poetry inspired by some random thoughts I've had over the past few days. Feeling worn out emotionally right now and thought I'd try to do some writing to help with stress.

I was just about to shut down and I thought I’d check in on you. Why would I even unfollow you carn? smh I must have been on a spring cleaning auto-pilot because I’m fond of you.

I’m sorry you’re so worn out. I feel the same.

EDIT: Oh crap, that was a misvote with the wrong percent. Really tired here.
