Hi there. In this Pokemon TCG post I provide an overview of the Awakening Drum ACE SPEC card from Temporal Forces.
ACE SPEC cards are powerful cards where you can only have one ACE SPEC card in a deck. Most of them are Item cards and they are in the Magenta Pink colour.
Awakening Drum Card
This Awakening Drum card is an Item card whose effect is like a powerful draw Supporter card like Professor's Research or Cynthia's Ambition. For each of your Ancient Pokemon in play you draw one card. You can draw up to 6 cards from this item card which is crazy.
Combos With This Card
As Awakening Drum is an item card you can still play a powerful supporter card like Boss's Orders to finish the game with a game winning knockout.
This ACE SPEC card is searchable from supporters like Irida and Arven as those supporters can search for Item cards.
Whatever cards you draw from Awakening Drum can help with setting up energy, attaching an Ancient Booster Energy Capsule and/or attacking. To be able to draw up to six cards out of nowhere is quite powerful.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Item card that can be used with a Supporter card.
- Searchable by Supporters like Irida and Arven.
- Draw lots of cards if you have a lot of Ancient Pokemon in play. Up to six!
- Useable in early game and in late game.
Cons
- Price could be expensive but prices could go down. (17 CAD at start of release)
- Not useful outside of Ancient decks
- Watch out for the Supporter Eri from your opponent!
- Can be hard sometimes to have many Ancient Pokemon in play. You would want at least three in play to draw cards better than Nemona's Draw 3 cards.
