Hi there. In this Pokemon trading card game post, I cover four of the released cards from the upcoming set Night Wanderer from Japan. These four cards are:

  • Kyurem
  • Binding Mochi Tool Card
  • Colress's Tenacity Supporter Card
  • Neutral Center - ACE SPEC Stadium card.

This Night Wanderer set will release in Japan on June 7th. For the English release I am not sure.

Colress's Tenacity

Prior to the reveal of this Supporter card there were not many cards that search for Stadium cards. There may have been a few Pokemon with zero damage attacks that can search for Stadiums but using an attack for searching a card is not great. When it comes searching for Special energies there is Energy Loto but it is not widely used. This Colress's Tenacity Supporter will see play in decks that use Special Energy cards like Luminous Energy, Mist Energy, Double Turbo Energy, Reversal Energy, Neo Upper Energy (ACE SPEC) and Legacy Energy (ACE SPEC). Having a Stadium search in this card is super helpful too. You can search for a Stadium to restrict opponents or find a Stadium to remove the existing Stadium in play.

Pros

  • Stadium search is powerful.
  • Special Energy search option is powerful too.

Cons

  • May want to draw more cards instead.
  • Not for every deck.

Kyurem

As of late it appears that there are counters to almost anything. Release a new Colress card along with the existing Colress's Experiment in the F, G, H format and release this Kyurem Pokemon as a punish pick against Colress Supporter card users.

Kyurem is a strong single prize basic Dragon Pokemon with 130 HP, no weakness and two retreat cost.

The attack of Trifrost has a high cost of two Water Energy, two Metal Energy and one colourless energy. All energy is discarded from Kyurem and then it does 110 damage for 3 of the opponent's Pokemon. The bench sniping damage from this attack is quite powerful. Some are speculating that this card was designed to put pressure on Comfeys, Cramorants and Sableyes from Lost Zone decks. Manaphy and Rabsca (Stage 1) are hard counters to bench sniping attacks like Kyurem's Trifrost.

Kyurem's ability of Anti-Plasma is very powerful. If the opponent has a card with Colress in its discard pile, the attack of Trifrost goes from two Water Energy, two Metal Energy and one colourless attack cost to just a colourless attack cost.

Pros

  • Powerful ability to make its powerful attacker cheaper if Colress card in opponent's discard pile.
  • Big Basic Pokemon of 130 HP, single prize

Cons

  • Opponent may not play a Colress card.
  • Manaphy protects opponent's bench from bench sniping attacks.

Binding Mochi

Poison as of late gets more support thanks to this Binding Mochi card. The Poisoned Pokemon that this Tool card is attached does 40 more damage to the opponent's active Pokemon. The Poison status condition deals 10 damage to the Poisoned Pokemon between the players turns which is not much unless you don't have many options to switch Pokemon out. Plus 40 damage is quite strong and it can help hit key numbers like 230 or even 240 on big Basic V and ex Pokemon, 280 HP on VSTAR Pokemon and 330 HP on the ever popular Charizard ex (Stage 2).

Pros

  • Plus 40 damage is very powerful.
  • Searchable by Arven & Town Store (Stadium)

Cons

  • Requires Poisoned Pokemon
  • Beware of Lost Vacuum

Neutral Center ACE SPEC Stadium

The previous batch of ACE SPEC cards before Scarlet & Violet era did not have any Special Energy cards or Stadium cards. It looks the card designers are expanding the ACE SPEC options once again with an ACE SPEC stadium card. This stadium is called Neutral Center.

Pokemon without any Rule Boxes are protected by attacks from the opponent's Pokemon ex and Pokemon V. This Stadium card is comparable to the basic Pokemon Mimikyu but in Stadium form. This Stadium effect is quite powerful in terms of defensive capabilities for certain decks. Some decks out there get a bit greedy with their attackers and may not use non-rule box attackers. In addition, some decks may not run many stadiums to counter other stadiums.

Pros

  • Prevent damage from Pokemon ex and Pokemon Vs to non-rule box Pokemon.
  • Good for single prize decks.

Cons

  • Stadium removal is not too difficult as opponent's can use Lost Vacuum or a different Stadium.
  • Other ACE SPEC options that can be more impactful from an attacking or hand disruption perspective.
