In Nigeria there is barely any use of chasing purposeful education because of the reality of the people in the country. The country is one of the poorest countries in the world, filled with a lot of people who are living life to survive, most people regret going to school and searching for job instead of using that time to acquire skill that would have gotten them established. In Nigeria it’s so hard to find people who practice their university study, lawyers after graduating starts looking for a means to survive. Some of them starts working at the mall, some starts working at the bank and some start up a business. This is discouraging younger generations from wanting to pursue any degree academically, because they watched people before them struggle to get a job after graduating.

Medicine and Doctor is the only profession where people who study it almost always practice it, this is because everything about the profession is vital and valued so high not to be practiced. Imagine spending more than 5 years in college studying Medicine to be come a doctor, reading and working so hard so you can pass the exam. Then spending some time at med school not to practice the course, most Nigerians after studying that move abroad to pursue the profession because they are valued better there compared to here. That is the only purposeful education, the rest education have no purpose because, people have to look for a means to survive.
We have a lot of millionaires with no degrees, we used to call them uneducated millionaires, because we used to think that not having a degree equals not being educated, but that is so wrong. People can have no degree ut still be exposed thanks to their money that grants them access to a lot of places. While a lot of people are educated with degrees but dont have access to places because they dont have money and they dont have money because they dont have jobs. Thanks to the internet, you cn just snatch up a skill if determined and use it to find a job instead of relying on the old educational employment system.

The old education system is pretty much outdated. There's a huge disconnect between what is taught and how it can be applied in the real world. That's why I think self education has become so important nowadays. Without it, thriving in the modern world will be quite hard!
