queen ruling the waves

in #queen2 years ago

i asked the ai for a picture of the "queen ruling the waves" seeing as it was fitting to ask for a decent throw back to the 15/16th century when we had some pretty bad ass ships and were known for dominant exploratory advances. I'm not sure what great britain is known for these days, even rolls royce seems to be on it's arse.

hyperbole and ruminations aside the queen is not doing so great too. i'm not a big royal family follower but i've always known about the queen in my life time, i've never not known about here in my lifetime, she's been this bedrock for many of the brits i know -- me being a muggle of irish mutt order, a mix bag never really got behind the whole blue blood thing but i do accept that she's been a major part of my upbringing and world view metric.

it's certainly taught me a lot about what the united kingdom achieved, the lengths and breadths the tentacles go and how it's influenced and shaped things around the planet. I'm sure if you look deeply enough at every country they have many things in their past that makes you wince just a bit, how we have managed as a species to get this far is kinda beyond me sometimes!

but here we still are in 2022, just, by the skin of our teeth even thou we have war raging for the past six months between ukraine and russian and indirectly the rest of the world, hanging by the balance of time and measure, an inch from disaster or retreat.

I certainly do hope the queen does get better, she's an old lady now however, it's quite an incredible age and the fact that all her children have been called or rallied around her to come home speaks volumes to the seriousness of the situation.

She's a strong fighter, maybe it will lift her, maybe it's not time yet, let's hope she can rest and relax, the body was not meant to go on forever and knocking on the door of a hundred is incredible for most people, i know for a fact i'll not be getting to these illustrious heights (and that's ok)

i remember very vividly where i was when the phone rang and dianne died i pulled the car over and sat there parked in shock. it was like everyone around me got the news as well, it's crazy how information and data travels now and how fast we consume and react to it -- it literally can create and make or smash and destroy economies.

will operation london bridge start today?
is london bridge down?

I certainly hope not and i wish the queen and her family many more years ahead, i've never known a time when she was not queen so it would be a real moment in time for me, a bit like people i imagine when they saw us land on the moon for the first time.

life changing stuff, literally.

kind regards
humble xx
