I quite sure that most stackers have probably seen a PAMP Suisse silver or gold bar. It’s pretty hard not to have seen their classic Lady Fortuna bar at some point
PAMP makes far more items than just that well known Lady Fortuna silver and gold bar. As a child small gold bars from them were worn as pendants on jewelry. In the early 80’s in my area, the only gold bars that you saw were PAMP Suisse or Engelhard. Engelhard primarily because of how close they were produced near me.
I actually remember my grandfather buying a PAMP Suisse gold bar when I was young. The reason I remember it, is probably because my grandfather handing a guy behind a counter $200 was a lot of money to me.
Well I don’t have a gold PAMP Suisse bar to share with you today. But I do have a trio of PAMP Suisse ten ounce bars to share with you. No these are not the same bars, look at the serial numbers.
But first a little history on PAMP Suisse….
PAMP SA (Produits Artistiques Métaux Précieux) is an independent precious metals refining and fabricating company, and a member of the MKS Group. Established in 1977 in Ticino, Switzerland, the company originally started as a minting facility for bars weighing less than 100 grams and as an alloy specialist for the jewelry and luxury watch-making industries. It has since expanded to provide a full range of services, from collecting doré from mines to assaying, hedging, and delivering its bars and other products. Oh dang, I thought you were going to share 10oz gold bars and I was thinking woah! These are still pretty sweet. I see the two that are sequential both say 1121. What does that number signify?
Dam I wish. I don’t have ten ounces nevermind 3 ten ounce bars. That 1121 is the lot number the serial number is under that. It’s also on the certificate
