Beautiful Guan Yin (Great Bodhisattva) Temple, in Phetchaburi province - Part I

in #travel3 months ago

Guan Yin is the Goddess of Mercy that Thai people and Thai-Chinese people respect very much.

The word Guan Yin means kindness, compassion, and love.

Normally, people visit the temple to ask for good luck in their work, studies, love and life.

There are many beautiful Guan Yin temples in Thailand and this one that I will show you is the one among them.

This Guan Yin temple is situated in Phetchaburi province. It’s very large and has a marvelous design which can attract your eyes from a far distance.

The gate of the temple is very huge with awesome design and gorgeous decorations.

There are two statues of white Singhas on both sides of the gate. They look really majestic.

On the four columns of the gate, you will find small colorful dragons staying there.

The multi-layered roofs are decorated with many smaller dragons which look fantastic.

There are beautiful mural paintings here and there in small and large sizes.

The large ones on both sides of the gate are especially impressive.

The pretty lotus in the two ponds in front of each statue of the white Singha seem to give you a warm welcome and happily invite you to go inside the temple.

The main building looks outstanding from the gate. (Will show you photos of the main building in my next post.)

The white clouds over the building are really wonderful....

There are some other small buildings that are impressive and have charming designs in Chinese styles.

These buildings stay scattered in the garden in front of the main building.

These things make the temple look attractive and fascinating.
