Today is a special day for me, it is my brother's birthday. He is not in Hive yet and he doesn't know about this post, but I will try to bring him to Hive this summer if he wants to. I am sure he will be happy when he sees this post. It will be a big surprise for him.
Some siblings argue and fight day and night and can't share things. We haven't been like that since we were kids, I was never a bully to my brother and I was always happy to see him happy. Most brothers are like that anyway, right? I liked to share, of course we used to make each other jealous. There are some memories I will never forget. For example, we would both get our pocket money and buy something from the market. He would shop before me and eat what he bought right away and I wouldn't spend all my money right away. On the contrary, I would buy something after he ran out of money and he would get very angry XD Isn't it ridiculous? I don't know why I do such a thing haha.
As the younger brother, he always loved to misbehave. In those days, we couldn't buy and eat everything whenever we wanted, first of all we lived in the village and not everything was always sold in the village. For example, sometimes we would buy hazelnuts and my mom would hide them for us to eat together. My brother would somehow go and find it where she hid it and eat it. Who would be to blame at the end of the incident? Me, of course! Because my brother was small, they wouldn't believe that he had done it. Eventually my mom caught him in the act a few times so she realized he was the culprit lol. Because of him many times my mom forgot where she hid the cookies and they got stale XD I remember the pistachios we found a few years after they were hidden.
Unfortunately we don't have many photos of us as kids. Technology came to the village very late like everything else. We met camera phones very late, especially not the ones that take pictures like a calculator, but the ones that can take really good pictures. That's why we don't have any photos except a few taken with old cameras. But that doesn't matter, most of those days are still in my memory.
As time went on we grew up and as we grew up I tried my best to be a better big brother to my brother. I don't know how successful I was in that, you know everyone has their own life and I was like that when my brother was in boarding school and then I went to another city for university and we were away for a very long time. We only saw each other in the summers and that was very limited but we still had a lot of fun. He actually came to visit me when I was in university and we were going to have a very good time together. We made plans but guess what happened? Corona came along and turned our lives upside down. Still, at least we spent time together in the village lol.
As the years go by you realize the value of having a good brother or sister. He has always been the perfect brother for me and never did anything to make me extremely angry. He is now at university and doing quite well. He is going to be a computer engineer like me and he is already much more successful than me. I have very high expectations for him academically. Who knows, maybe I will work in his company in the future? I know, usually it is the other way around, the younger brother works in the older brother's company, but sometimes there are exceptions. I don't mind that. I am always proud of my brother's achievements. He also accomplishes things that always make me and my family proud.
Above all, I love you very much, brother. I hope you have a wonderful life. Life is full of ups and downs. It's not always easy to get up when you fall, but I, as your brother, will always reach out my hand and support you to get up. Bugün benim için özel bir gün, bugün kardeşimin doğum günü. Kendisi henüz Hive'da değil ve bu posttan hiç haberi yok ama bu yaz kendisi de isterse onu Hive'a kazandırmaya çalışacağım. Bu postu gördüğünde mutlu olacağına eminim. Ona büyük bir sürpriz olacak.
Bazı kardeşler gece gündüz tartışır, kavga ederler ve bir şeyleri paylaşamazlar. Biz çocukluğumuzdan beri öyle olmadık, ben abi olarak kardeşime karşı asla zorba biri olmadım ve hep onun mutlu olduğunu görmek beni mutlu ederdi. Zaten çoğu abi öyledir değil mi? Paylaşmayı severdim, tabi birbirimizi kıskandırdığımız olurdu. Hiç unutamadığım bazı anılar var. Örneğin ikimiz de harçlığımızı alırdık ve marketten bir şeyler alırdık. O benden önce alışveriş yapardı ve aldığı şeyleri hemen yerdi ben ise paramın hepsini hemen harcamazdım. Tam tersi onun parası bittikten sonra bir şeyler alırdım ve o buna çok sinir olurdu XD Çok saçma değil mi? Neden böyle bir şey yaptığımı bilmiyorum haha.
Küçük kardeş olarak yaramazlık yapmayı hep çok severdi. O günlerde her şeyi istediğimiz zaman alıp yiyemezdik, en başta köyde yaşıyorduk ve her şey her zaman köyde satılmıyordu. Örneğin bazen fındık satın alırdık ve annem onu hep birlikte yememiz için saklardı. Kardeşim bir şekilde gidip o fındığı annemin sakladığı yerde bulur ve yerdi. Olayın sonunda suçlu kim olurdu? Tabi ki ben! Kardeşim küçük olduğu için bunu onun yaptığına inanmazlardı. Sonunda birkaç defa annem onu iş üstünde yakaladığı için suçlunun o olduğunu anladı lol. Onun yüzünden pek çok defa annem sakladığı çerezleri sakladığı yerde unuttu ve o çerezler bayatladı XD Saklandıktan birkaç yıl sonra bulduğumuz antep fıstığını hatırlıyorum.
Çocukken maalesef çok fotoğrafımız da yok. Köye her şey gibi teknoloji de çok geç geldi. Kameralı telefonlarla çok geç tanıştık özellikle hesap makinesi gibi fotoğraf çekenler değil ve gerçekten iyi fotoğraf çekebilenlerle. Bu yüzden eski fotoğraf makineleriyle çekilmiş birkaç fotoğraf dışında fotoğrafımız yok. Ama bunun önemi de yok, o günlerin çoğu hala hafızamda.
Zaman geçtikçe biz büyüdük ve büyüdükçe kardeşime daha iyi bir abi olabilmek için elimden geleni yaptım. Bu konuda ne kadar başarılı olduğumu bilmiyorum, biliyorsunuz herkesin kendi hayatı var ve kardeşim yatılı okuldayken ben de öyleydim ve daha sonra da üniversite için başka bir şehre gittim ve çok uzun süre uzak kaldık. Sadece yazları görüşebiliyorduk. O da çok kısıtlıydı ama yine de çok eğleniyorduk. Aslında ben üniversitedeyken beni ziyaret etmeye geldi ve birlikte çok iyi zaman geçirecektik. Planlar yapmıştık ama bilin bakalım ne oldu? Corona ortaya çıktı ve hayatımızı alt üst etti. Yine de en azından köyde birlikte zaman geçirdik lol.
Yıllar geçtikçe iyi bir kardeşe sahip olmanın değerini daha iyi anlıyorsunuz. Her zaman benim için mükemmel bir kardeş oldu ve asla beni aşırı sinirlendirecek bir şey yapmadı. Şu anda üniversitede ve oldukça iyi gidiyor. Kendisi de benim gibi bir bilgisayar mühendisi olacak ve şimdiden benden çok daha başarılı. Akademik başarı olarak ona dair çok yüksek beklentilerim var. Kim bilir belki ileride onun şirketinde çalışırım? Biliyorum, genelde işler tam tersi olur, küçük kardeş abinin şirketinde çalışır ancak bazen istisnalar da olabilir. Bundan gocunmam. Kardeşimin başarıları beni her zaman gururlandırıyor. O da beni ve ailemi her zaman gururlandıracak şeyler başarıyor.
