Hi fellow Hiveians,

Waterside Monochrome Monday

I was looking back through my photos that I've got saved and on my computer and I realized that I apparently take a hell of a lot of pictures of water lol. I guess it's one of my favorite themes hahaha.

I love the look of water like this when it's turned into black and white. It's got such a unique look and feel to it. These pictures in color are certainly beautiful but they take on a whole different life when they are some nice black and white photos. There are a lot of different things for you to focus your attention on with these! I think the water up front sticks out quite a bit more compared to the color version, because this is an autumn picture so the trees are quite beautiful.

I also realized that I've taken an inordinate amount of pictures in this area! I know that it's one of my favorites around because of the mountains so I am not too upset about that haha. I love going up here, and am hoping to do some traveling up here this coming winter! We just have to get a little bit of snow and we should be good.

The water as it's coming down by the rocks here looks like it's not even really a real thing, if that makes sense. It looks artificial in the black and white version, almost like it was painted on and added some sand for texture. My uncle has done a great job with that type of stuff for his custom hobby railroad in his basement.

This one here also has that effect, but this one kind of also looks like it's raining and the region at the bottom of the picture is getting a decent downpour. That's not at all the case interestingly enough, it was a hot summer day with no clouds haha. I love the extra dark look to it though because the water was filled with black rocks and other really dark material probably from what used to be in the region, be it road tar or something. I'm not really sure but the water here looks a lot more surreal than it does in the color version.

I enjoy taking pictures that look cool as they are and turning them into different versions with black and white. It makes a pretty big difference in what you are seeing and interpreting! I hope you're able to enjoy or see some of the things that I do, but could also see quite a number of things that I'm not so please let me know what you think!

water in monochrome has special charm

Thanks I agree! I love seeing water in black and white!

This must really be a beautiful place to explore. This is beautiful

Thank you it was a wonderful place to take pictures!

The look of water in black and white form is usually beautiful
I really love it and I love how you take pictures

Yeah it's one of my favorites for sure!

Whenever the images are converted to black and white, their beauty is enhanced and such stones are visible above such special places.

I think so too!

Beautiful!
I love the black-and-white - so many many shades in between, it seems inaccurate to think of it as monochrome - "a single hue or color" - to me it is so rich and so varied.
Great photos!

Yeah black and white are certainly some of my favorite pictures to take!
