Friday A walk downtown

a walk downtown

Good morning and have a great day

Today I will share a few shtos I took on a walk around the historic downtown area of New Bedford.
Gnerally when I walk there i have parked down by the port, and often its kind of grey or dul and I dont expect much inthe way of sunrise colors so I decide to take a stroll across the road into the city centre
I do enjoy this area witht he Belgian block roads I knowI and most people call them cobblestones but a couple of historians here have pointed out to me they are not cobblestones

now if like me you do not know the differenc ei Did look it up and heres the scoop

Belgian Blocks are rectangular or square whereas cobblestones are round. Cobblestones are typically pulled from river beds where the years have worn away the rough edges and created the soft edged cobblestones. In contrast Belgian Block were quarried and carry the shape and tool markings that come with that process

Here i have walked up a block from the port and looking down one of the streets

And I think you will not in these first couple of shots the blocks are indeed rectangluar an dnot rounded and hence Belgian blocks

and if I remember rightly the first blocks were lais on the streets back in 1838

Focusing on the streets but showing some of the historic buildings, back in its prime days when whaling was the big thing New Bedofrd was one of if not the richest city in the world and hence we do have some grand buildings

Hey @tattoodjay, here is a little bit of BEER from @pixresteemer for you. Enjoy it!

Did you know that <a href='https://dcity.io/cityyou can use BEER at dCity game to buy cards to rule the world.

Different light showcasing the town, only odd photograph that does not fit the theme is the more modern feel with parking garage.

Excellent captures for mood photography and feel of surroundings.

Wow, those are absolutely stunning. I agree, the fact that you were able to get them with no cars in them just totally adds to the feel of them. It almost feels like you are stepping back into the past.

Congratulations on your post! Your insights are truly impressive and well-articulated. Keep up the great work!

The buildings seems the distance from each other are measured.😊

Cool photos of the downtown of New Bedford with its cobbled streets.
Have a wonderful Friday

I like the aesthetic vibes in there. Is it spring season there? I don't know much about seasons😅. But one thing that I know, is that I love spring and autumn season.

Why does it look like the map of Africa from down here?

Beautiful pictures 😍😍

Nice historic feel to all these shots. I like that the street lights are still on. Adds a nice touch 👍

I love historic districts, they just have that old feel to them. Those stones remind me of Old San Juan in Puerto Rico, where the stones are blue in color, same kind of design though. What a beautiful place!

I hope you're healing up well!

Nice pictures
