Navigating Towards a Brighter Healthcare Horizon: Open and Decentralized Healthcare

in #opensource5 months ago (edited)

Today's healthcare landscape, in its vast expanse, dotted with inefficiencies and covered in opaque practices, is crying out for novelties and hope. This pressure release can come in the form of open and decentralized healthcare systems. Against the backdrop of these qualities, this evolutionary model that drowns in principles of voluntaryism supported by the sophisticated blockchain technology promises a future portrait in which healthcare is not a service but a trust, transparency and individual self-empowerment symbiosis.

How could we put such a system together?

The Beacon of Transparency: Role of Hive

Leading from the front of this change is a Hive blockchain, a beacon for transparency and community governance. Every policy changes, every community call, and every expenditure of funds all recordable on Hive. This public ledger of the blockchain stands witness for transparency, whereby the operations of healthcare providers and organizations are visible via supervision of the community it serves.

The Shield of Privacy: Monero, Zcash and More

However, in the sensitive nature of personal health data then is privacy that takes center stage. Herein lies the role of platforms like Monero and Zcash. Monero would ensure that patient financial transactions are confidential and secure given that its operations are cryptographically obfuscated. Zcash, in the same vein, due to its Zk-SNARK technology, adds another layer of encryption that keeps the sensitive health records private, thus lending a veil of confidentiality around the transactions.

Hyperledger Fabric and Ardor: The Guardians of Confidentiality

In the world of consortiums and collaborative healthcare networks, come to play platforms like Hyperledger Fabric and Ardor. Their permissioned nature helps allow visible data to be tailormade for it to be shared amongst authorized entities only, making them ideal for collaborative research, as well sharing data while maintaining patient confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

The Symphony of Open but Decentralized Healthcare

This combination – with Hive standing to represent transparency and community governance, while Monero and Zcash making sure the privacy in the ecosystem, and Hyperledger Fabric along with Ardor, which are the enforcers of controlled data sharing – ties up perfectly the entire healthcare system but can be both open as well as secure. It is a system where transparency does not come on the price of privacy and each patient's data constitute the guarded treasure available to those granted permission.

The Community's Canvas: Collaborative and Innovative Solutions

In such a decentralized landscape of healthcare, innovation is a result of the vibrant collaboration occurring at the various organizational levels. The open-source platform serves as the meeting point for all health practitioners, patients, technologists, and researchers who come to establish their businesses geared towards community needs. From developing new healthcare apps, to brainstorming on public health initiatives, community collective wisdom steers the realization of progress.

A Future Weaved by Hope and Action

On this onward journey towards the decentralized future of healthcare we change not just systems; we rewire mindsets. We build a world where healthcare becomes a collaboration, a shared responsibility, a journey towards collective well being. It is a bold vision, but one that is achievable with the tools and technologies at our disposal.

In this vision, each of us becomes the agent of change. Together we can unmake the old structures of healthcare and weave with shards a new fabric of care, one that is fairer, more responsible, more responsive to each unique individual.

So let's take these few steps forward with confidence and hope, for in our hands lie the tools to forge a new path in healthcare - a path that leads to a horizon bright with promise and potential.

Good ideas, lovely vision.

But as soon as insurance comes into play, all this gets thrown out the window. How many of us choose our healthcare based on what their insurance will pay for? I no longer use my health "insurance" (read protection fees), for anything, and consult almost exclusively healing modalities that do not accept insurance at all. Their advice is theirs, not what they have been told to dispense.

Good point, but if we build a more transparent system where the middle man is cut out, maybe that would solve the problem by itself.

Once again, maybe insurance exists largely due to our own lack of willingness to take responsibility for our own affairs.

What you are doing by paying direct is what many of us are doing; taking direct responsibility for our own health and looking outside the mainstream system.

I wonder how much of this kind of activity it takes to completely collapse the existing structure. I certainly don't know, but it looks like we have an opportunity here.

Agreed! That's what I hope to be a tiny part of, the collapse of enslavement structures.

How many of us believe we must let western doctors poison us in order to be healthy? How many of us believe headaches, constipation, vertigo, nausea, arthritis, etc are normal?!! I believe our best chances of being truly healthy are to stay away from those quacks, dentists included and perhaps especially. They poison us every single time we go to them, starting from the moment we are born.

You speak of public health initiatives, which are, currently, the worst treatment of all - poisoning everyone who hasn't been poisoned yet.

Oh boy, you've gotten me going here. I need to go for a walk.

At least for now. Maybe market pressures will change that someday.

Someday. Maybe far off in the future, when we've learned that democracy is only as good as the voters' sources of information. If those sources are controlled (via medical tyranny for one, which is nicely positioned, right now, to murder billions with a simple, government mandated, medical procedure), then demoncracy is more like it. Or maybe it will all collapse and we will build what we want to see, instead of accepting what we are shown. One way is slower than the other. Is one of them better than the other? Perhaps governments using open source would make more honest beings of the humans that power them.

The decentralized healthcare is something I have thought about and I’m glad to see it somewhere for the first time
I’m glad about this move or journey and I hope the project ends up a success

i don't think there is actually a project (i may be wrong and hope there is, as virtually all current healthcare systems are a big scam which should be renamed to deathcare or similar!)

Sharing on Twitter.

This is true, here in our country during the days of Corona, these people earned a lot of profit in their business in the same way. All such people do not care about people's lives. But these people are only interested in their hypocrites and they do not understand that this time will pass and these people who are doing wrong will surely be troubled one day.

People's only like to earn money. The way is right or wrong

Thanks. RSVP to show evidence burn has been done.

Ok. I'm probabably done with publishing to hive. I've been tagged for using AI and I spent a lot of time writing those articles. I'm really just sick of it. Every. Single. Time. Every time I try to get this account going, someone comes in and fucks with me. I'm sick of it.

Thanks, taking off of my reading list
