After a long holiday of election, 2 days weekend and a religious festival, it was time to get back to normal work. As I was biking around the Kathmandu city, the litter of wastes were scattered around the city for more than a week. It was smelling horribly disgusting. The waste had been lying there on the road washed away by the rain. There doesn't seem to be any proper management related to waste here in the city and rather than blaming the concerned authority tasked with dealing such issues, the main fault lies within the people of the country who are blind and illiterate in this context. They are the one throwing waste outside the main street knowing the fact that it can bring out many diseases and environmental problems. I would also like to blame such people for voting an ineffective leader with misguided vision during the last year election.

The problems had been persisting here in the city since last few decades. The problem with scattering of waste is due to the fact that many of the buildings that houses offices, hotels, restaurants don't have proper space in their building to keep waste for somedays when garbage collector is not there to collect the waste. They will leave out the waste in the street and so the other follows. And the trend has been going for many years. There's had always been request for properly managing those solid wastes once and for all.
