I welcome you all to my blog, how are you all doing? I hope you all are doing pretty good. Today i am sharing with guys the upholstery of a car seat done by me. Has you all know me, sewing of car seat is my occupation for now.
It has been some days i have not share my work here, this is because i have much work to day and some times i don't take photos of it. Today i try my best to make share i captured some of my working process so that i can share with you guys.
Has i always said, upholstery work is simple to do, this is all about determination. I enjoy doing it and people love the outcome of my work that is why tge keep on coming, i really feel happy about that..
Today i am sharing with you guys some simple process i follow to sew this old seat below
Here is the finish work, hope it look new.
Let look at how l make it come to reality.
Firstly, i loose the seat with the help of my working tools, this us really simple and if you choose to loose it your self you have to note how you loose it so that you will be able to tight it back.
I finally loose the main seat from the back for easy measurements and upholstery.
The next thing i did was to measure the vertical and horizontal length of each pattern of the seat and then pen it down for easy reading.
I then went to market to get a new leather that match with the interior of the car. Here is the leather i am using for this project.
I then transfer the written measurements to new leather by marking out the with the help of sewing tape and then use long ruler to connect those lines together.
I then use scissors to cut them out following the line i draw.

After that, i then proceed to form my working pattern by placing the new cut leather on its possition and then trace out the shape. After that, i then gum it to a roof material to make it smooth and strong
I then cut it out for sewing process
I then use my sewing machine to join those pattern together has it is in the original pattern because i was not to change anything from the original design.
After sewing the seat i the clip it to the form and then cover it. Tight back the seat has it was and here is the finally results to the project.
