Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

A Job As Good As Done!

Well guys it has been a while! It has really been a while! Perhaps far too long!

See the thing is I've somewhat depleted my fair share of stuff to share around the workshop because nowadays we mainly get the same cars in over and over so once that wave has died down I'll start sharing some cool stuff again!

Today I've got to fit a external oil cooler onto the truck, this will allow the oil of the transmission to flow through this cooler instead of the radiator, the problem with the radiators is that they rust through and then the coolant mixes with the oil and that is never a good ending to a story!

Hence this box of Transaver!

Not A Lot Though!

In truth this is by far the easiest part of my job! Installing these oil coolers!

It's not always as easy though that much is certain, more than often cars are pretty sealed up infront of the radiators!

Another thing are those clips! Heck I don't trust them but the company that owns the truck told us to fit it just like that they don't want unneeded costs! Now we did fit it just like that with those plastic stuff but I have some major trust issues with those they are plastic? I mean come on how strong can they be?

Well as far as stories go they are pretty much durable, but still I have issues!

Drip Dry!

Oh hell! Bossman wants this done now and I ain't in no mood to have myself covered with oil!

I detached the oil feeds and started letting them drain out! Now this can take some time hey! Some of you know oil can drip forever!

Well I got myself busy on something else and by the time I returned everything was drained... well sort off... the droplets always peel out!

But with that said! Less is better!

Just To Be Sure!

Now this is something that most people would leave out entirely!

I have no fancy with that and the mechanics at RAM will likely laugh at me for this!

I always connect those two ports, for no other reason than the radiator rusting through! When that happens the water will be out of the system within seconds!
I mean high pressure and heat! POOOOF!

This is not to say that it will happen but it can happen and it can also be prevented!

Extra Precaution!

Now who can see the cable ties around the pipes?

I did that for extra protection, I took some of the old pipe and split it open and pulled it over the new pipes and tied them down!

This doesn't always look neat but it sure as hell stops the pipes from rubbing up on each other and eventually rubbing through causing more oil leaks!
Most people would think I'm wack for that! But that is okay!

Lastly we still need to fit the transmission so once that is done the truck can get out of here!

Take note this is not a how to guide, merely myself talking about the work I do and my thoughts around certain things.

To everyone who made it this far into my post Thank you for the read and the support.

Most of all please leave a input in the comments below, whether is good or bad critic I would like to know, whether its your opinion or your way of doing things in a different manner I would like.
