Two weeks ago, Stefan an I visited Vienna for some nature photography again. On the hills around vienna a lot of wildlife and a very nice beautiful landscape can be found. Ground Squirrels, Hamsters, mice, birds, butterflies, insects and some nice flowers can be found in the hills around Vienna and visiting these spots from time to time can pay off very nicely. Then I also like the food and drinks that can be obtained at the "Heurigen" that are situated in some of Viennas Suburbs.
In the Hills around Vienna you will find a lot of vineyards, fallow land and some great spots for landscape, animal and insectphotography. I enjoy visiting these spots since there is often a lot to see and find there. Since it is warmer than here in Austria the flowers and the insects as well as the animals that can be found there are different. For example the groundsquirrels or the hamsters can be found there near vienna but not here in Upper Austria. Birds are usually the same here and there but also the variety of insects is very different. There I always find a lot more different butterfly species and other small insects like ladybugs, grasshoppers and different bugs that I haven't seen here in Upper Austria yet. I assume this is due to the general better and warmer weather there.
