Greetings friends of Hive and Visualshots, I hope you are well. I want to thank you for the badge of this community that I have in the profile of my blog :) Now I am going to present my photographic content and tell you that in Medellin we have had a long period without rain and people complained about the heat. The thing is that this city has always been very cool and I was also surprised by the change of weather but finally the rains started. That's good because the temperature has dropped a little, the city is cooler but the happiest are the plants.
Although the rains are already falling I come to share photos of a dry landscape. Yes, the drought gave me a landscape that I never thought I would see in Medellin. I could not believe that the city of eternal spring was withered. Everywhere I went I could see how the plants in the flower boxes of the houses and on the sidewalks of the streets had dried up. Medellín's green landscape had disappeared.

Quiero agradecer por la insignia de esta comunidad que tengo en el perfil de mi blog :) Ahora sí, voy a presentar mi contenido fotográfico y les cuento que en Medellín hemos tenido una época larga sin lluvias y la gente se quejaba por el calor. Lo que pasa es que esta ciudad siempre ha sido muy fresca y yo también estaba sorprendido del cambio de clima pero por fin empezaron las lluvias. Eso es bueno porque la temperatura bajó un poco, está más fresca la ciudad pero las más felices son las plantas.
Aunque ya las lluvias están cayendo vengo a compartir fotos de un paisaje seco. Si, la sequía me regaló un paisaje que nunca pensé ver en Medellín. No podía creer que la ciudad de la eterna primavera estaba marchita. Por donde pasaba veía como se habían secado las plantas de las jardineras de las casas y de las aceras en la calles. El paisaje verde de Medellín había desaparecido.
In the midst of that dead landscape I could see beauties in the drought.
One day walking down the street I saw something black on the ground among the dry leaves of a planter. I didn't know what it was, I got very curious because it looked like a cocoon but of great size, that thing was about 10 centimeters and it scared me, I really thought it was a cocoon of something mossy :) But it was a pod, I don't know what seed. She seemed armored, it was a hard piece and it wasn't completely open, the strangest thing is that it was the only one there, no idea how it got there. Maybe some bird is responsible.
En medio de ese paisaje muerto pude ver bellezas en la sequía.
Un día caminando por la calle ví algo negro en el suelo entre las hojas secas de una jardinera. No sabía que era, me puse muy curioso porque parecía un capullo pero de gran tamaño, esa cosa media como 10 centímetros y me daba miedo, en serio pensé que era un capullo de algo mostruoso :) Pero era una vaina, no sé de que semilla. Ella parecía blindada, era una pieza dura y no estaba completamente abierta, lo más extraño es que era la única que había, ni idea cómo llegó allí. Quizás algún pájaro es el responsable.
Another day I saw a beetle that I fell in love with and it is because I like beetles and this one was of a color I had never seen before. Even in the drought the city gave me unusual shots of a dry city but still hiding beauties. I took several photos of the beetle without getting too close so that it would not go away.
Otro día vi un escarajo que me enamoró y es porque a mi gustan los escarabajos y este era de un color que nunca había visto. Aún en la sequía la ciudad me regaló tomas inusuales de una ciudad seca pero que seqguía escondiendo bellezas. Al escarabajo le hice varias fotos sin acercarme mucho para que no se fuera.
Also the birds were waiting for the rains but they adapt to everything and look at some birds that I saw looking for food on the ground among the dry leaves that fall and also cooling off among the trees that are more resistant to the heat.
También las aves esperaban las lluvias pero ellas se adaptan a todo y miren algunos pajaritos que vi buscando alimentos en el suelo entre las hojas secas que caen y también refrescandose entre los arboles que son más resistentes al calor.
It was common to see sad plants with dried flowers, something completely out of the ordinary in Medellín :(
Lo común era ver las plantas tristes con flores secas, algo completamente fuera de serie en Medellín :(
I have several years here and I am used to see live flowers but everything was different, some flowers survived but being very poor.
Yo tengo varios años aqui y estoy acostumbrado a ver flores vivas pero todo era diferente, algunas flores sobrevivian pero siendo muy pobres.
All the plants have had a long dry spell but the rain has come to Medellin and I will show you in another post.
