A little different from my usual Civ 6 gameplay, today I managed to secure a game from when I was in my early teens.FYI It’s another mission of mine to get all the games I wanted to finish growing up that I couldn’t. Long story short, slowly but sure, my list is growing!

So far, I already got Bully:Scholarship edition and today, Conflict: Desert Storm.

As a background, back in the 2000s, my favorite time was also spending it over PS rental cafe. I was the only female who played there and somehow, was pretty well-adjusted. I spent countless hours playing Guitar Hero, Bully, GTA and this Conflict: Desert Storms. For this Conflict series, I only played until Global Terror and then I stopped going to PS rental Cafe. I usually played this as multiplayer rather than single player. I liked teamwork and I remembered there was a scene where we had to bomb a tank. That mission was pretty intense back in the day. I wonder if I still think the same way. We'll find out!

I found the game on Steam currently 86% off and I decided to finally check them out from my wish list. Call me crazy to play these old games but they really have some memories attached to it and remain something that I want to play again.

In my memory, this conflict series used to have awesome graphics. They aren’t pixelated like today but look at this one that I was playing just a few hours ago, the graphics look pretty dated and for those of you who enjoys playing newer games, this game could be a waste of time. So, other than nostalgia purposes, I would not recommend getting this game.

Interestingly, the game has a multiplayer option just like the way it was. In their STEAM version, they can create a LAN party. It’s so different from what I was remembering with PS2 where it was instantaneous that we can play multiplayer. I doubt anybody still plays this, so that multiplayer options render it useless in my case.

This game is also pretty light and comes with a few display options. If you’re nostalgia collectors like I do, they are on sale and the best time to get it is now :D before they become a lot pricier which is around $10 for their regular price.

While the game has two options Delta Force or British SAS, I like playing as Delta Force. I remember they also have some iconic lines too that I was hearing briefly while playing today. While trying to play with my joypad, I find that this game can't be played like it used to. So, I have to use keyboard to play and using joypad was a little challenging. I am going to try playing again and record it. In fact, I was still playing the game on easy mode 😂to get me adjusted with the mechanics of the game again. And this below, was me getting shot by the terrorist.

I have to say it's pretty weird playing this game after years of not playing but this game was how I grew up and got me loving adventure, mission based and tactical shooter.

This is the kind of gane I want before, but never really tried playing it. I suck at it so I just accepted that I will never be a gamer, lol.

hahaha you should try it sometimes because it's fun to play🤣 I am not always winning though and that's okay.

Haha, I tried some but only a mobile games, but after some gaming and if I get tired with it, I will remove it on my phone (≧▽≦)

I remember seeing this Conflict game around, but I never actually played it.

I've been going back to games from my teens and younger, it's a lot of fun to re-visit them.

I have a similar experience with some games, I rented one called Sly Cooper on ps2 when I was a kid and never got to finish it, but it was so fun. I'll hopefully buy it some day soon and finally finish it.

Indeed! for me growing up, I couldn't really afford games like that and esp consoles. So, now as an adult, I just want to play it and revisiting the games that I might have not finished yet hehe. I never heard of Sly cooper but it looks like super sonic at glance hehe

It's a platformer type game, and yeah he's kind of like one of those iconic characters.

The games are fairly rare at this stage, the series is kind of a cult classic.

I find that the kind of early/ mid 2000's was a great time for games. There were so many great franchises created.

I'm really missing games lately. Constantly browsing through Steam and seeing what's available on macos. I'll give you a hint: it's nothing.

Really debating getting something like a Steam Deck.

I was getting my friend installing Steam. He's also macos user but prefers pixel games. So, it was a lot easier to find something for him.

I think of Mike Tyson Punch Out(1987). It was on the original Nintendo. I don't think I miss blowing on the cartridges to get them to work, haha. I played that game until I mastered it, ok a bit beyond that because it became a race to see how quickly I could do it once I beat it. This was my early teenage fun. The arcade version was quite a bit harder and if memory serves me right the line up was a lot different but I could go pretty far on it😁

There was a PC game called, Commandos, Behind Enemy Lines(1998) A mission game similar to one you described above. I got pretty far but than used cheats to complete missions, haha. You controlled 6 commandos all of which had specials skills. Green beret, marine, driver, sapper, sniper and spy. I'd play it again simply for the hours put into it, hehe.

I remembered that one and saw some version of it. It's definitely similar to that one😄sometimes these games are pretty nostalgic and you'd love playing more of i t just like I do because growing up, I couldn't afford it.
