The Holdovers -- A Beautiful, Sad Christmas Lullaby

Let me start off by saying I am not a Christmas movie person. While I do have some personal traditional watches like Bridget Jones, I really don't do the whole Home Alone marathon, or the classic dysfunctional-family-christmas-romcom thing. And that's because most of them are poorly shot, without a particular focus on artistry, and the story is sub-par, at best.

Yet here I am, writing a Christmas movie review.

Imagen personal para emprendedores / Self-image for entrepreneurs

Personal image is about how we see ourselves. The beliefs we have about ourselves and how we think others see us. This is an important thing to stop and think about and improve because as we work towards our goals we become different people.

Like many other aspects of life, self-image is imprinted on us at a subconscious level and is very much conditioned by what we have learned as children that we were. We have all had a label of "good girl" "naughty" "smiley" "bad/good student" "popular" "choni", and so on. Depending on what we have heard from other people about ourselves and the experiences we have had, we create that self-image.

The Allures & lllusions Of Expatriation & Digital Nomadship (Part One)…

A video popped up on my YouTube feed recently, dude talking about how “bad” Canada is and how he’s leaving. It’s a position I can personally relate to, having myself left Canada in the past, unhappy with the place, and have spent a good deal of time contemplating leaving again as things have seemingly gotten “worse” in recent years. However, as waiting to make decisions from a place of clarity rather than impulsively bouncing across the globe once more, new perspectives have opened up to see this way of living from a more balanced spectrum of both the allures & illusions of becoming an expat and/or “digital nomad.”

Discovering Photoshop Presets on Hive

I've used Photoshop on a fairly basic level for years. I'm not particularly keen on the software as I've found it to be too steep a learning curve and what I have learnt has taken me years. Only because I can't be bothered. Life is too short to teach an old dog new tricks.

And for years, I've shot lightpainting images where the name of the game is to shoot everything in one exposure with minimal or no image adjustments. I began to think I may be a bit of a Luddite, shunning this fangled new technology. Or maybe it was just plain laziness.

Hong Kong Trip 2023: Strolling at The Avenue of Stars

Moving on from the Middle Road children's playground, we found our way to the Avenue of Stars, it was better taking this route actually as we don't have to worry about crossing the road. We stopped by this area first where there's a shoot setup. It was as if we were part of a film. Matti was super curious about what these statues were holding and we had to explain to him that the one on the right was holding a microphone while the other one was managing the lights.
