Nature's Retreat || Balishira Resort Adventure

in Pinmapple18 days ago

To me, nature is the ultimate escape zone. Whenever I plan for any trip, nature gets my utmost priority. Luckily, the same goes for my partner too!

So this time, when we had been planning for a short break, Sylhet came first in our checklist. In Bangladesh, if you want to enjoy nature amidst rain, then Sylhet will come first. The reason is, Sylhet is the land of natural hills, forest and plenty of haors (lake). But when I think of Sylhet, the first thing that comes to mind is the tea garden! You will get mesmerized looking at this trimmed plant. The vividly green can absorb you for hours.

This time, we plan to stay at Balishira Resort. The thing that captures me most about Balishira is its serenity. This resort is built beside a Tilla (small hill).

We mainly wanted to tuck away from the hustle and bustle of Dhaka city life. And this hidden gem gives us the ultimate pleasure that we were searching for!

The Resort

When I first stepped into the grounds of Balishira Resort, it felt like I was immediately greeted by the symphony of nature. There were various types of trees which were nicely planted. While my husband was doing all that paperwork for check-in, I went roaming around. And suddenly, I came to this place.

Though it looks like a simple seating place made with bamboo, it fully takes my heart. The reason is the view! By sitting in this place, you will see a slow soothing stream going down.

As it was coming from the hill the water was so cold and pure. I think I can go for hours just looking at this peaceful stream. The soothing sound, the pace of the water low, the sound of nature, everything was senere.

The night light of this resort will take you to another world! When we were walking through the paved way, the crescent moon peeked through the trees. It felt like she was guiding the way.

This was our cottage. I loved how beautifully the placed the shades and lights!

Facilities

The accommodation at Balishira Resort is mind blowing. The architectural design of the cottages will please your eyes for sure.

This was the front view from our cottage.

The rooms seamlessly blend luxury with nature, offering guests a chance to feel the inner peace. Each cottage is thoughtfully appointed with modern amenities while maintaining the aesthetics. But being in the wild, you also have to face insects all around you! I didn't mind at all, because if you love nature, you have to love its living elements too!

The best thing is, we were so lucky that we got to manage a room with a personal swimming pool. I mean, just think of it! You get a swimming pool just on your own, you can be there whenever you want, wearing whatever you want! Ah, it feels like living in a dream! Such a wonderful experience!

Also the dining lounge was fully covered with transparent glass. While eating, you can enjoy an amazing natural view!

See how this plant is growing in water!

But perhaps the most compelling aspect of Balishira Resort is the sense of serenity. This place will always be in my heart because of its combination with nature. In most of the cases, where the resort and hotel are built, they destroy the nature around it. But in Balishira, they keep the natural resources as they are and decorate the place respecting nature. Through this, the place becomes more alluring. Mostly, to nature lovers.

Like behind this basketball court, there is a small hill which is fully covered with plants. See how vividly green it is!

They also have a wooden tree house behind our room. In my childhood, I had a big fascination for tree houses and this feeling is still with me! The view looks amazing when I climb up to it! Look at the spiral stairs!

Beside the basketball court, there is a large hammock and swing spot. While we were here, the wind was breezing over the bamboo trees. The sound of bamboo leaves falling on the ground hits us every time!

In my village, we have bamboo trees too (I think most of the Bangladeshi villages have this tree the most). Still these days, the demand for bamboo trees is insane. So people used to have this tree beside their pond.

I always tried to be near the bamboo trees in the windy time. Like before the rain, when the winds come, the leaves make a wonderful sound that is incomparable with anything. By closing your eyes, you can hear this sound for hours! I tried to reminisce about this event here in Balishira too. It was worth it!

Food

Though the place was undoubtedly beautiful, their food was the worst! It was so bad that we had to dine from the outside. But that was good for us too in a sense. Because we got to explore the city, enjoy the fresh air, and taste the traditional dishes of Sylhet. Sylhet is mostly famous for Shatkora (a wild orange). With this sour fruit, they even cook beef which tastes amazing!

As I already said, Sylhet is famous for its tea! So it was mandatory to taste different flavoured tea. And have to say, it was too good!

It really felt heavy when it came to saying goodbye to this beautiful place.

In a world that often feels chaotic and frenetic, this secluded retreat offers a rare opportunity to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with oneself. Waking up to the melodious symphony of birdsong and the gentle caress of the morning breeze is an experience that stays etched in the memory long after leaving. Balishira Resort in Sylhet is not just a place to stay; it's a sanctuary for the senses, a refuge for the weary and a celebration of the beauty and tranquillity of nature.
