Surely you already know that Prime video recently released the Fallout series, the Amazon platform surprised this time with the release of a series with all the episodes, in the best Netflix style, something that for many was wonderful, but for others like me not so much, perhaps this change of releasing a complete series has been counterproductive.
Fallout la adaptación que funciona pero merecía algo mejor
Seguro ya conoces que en Prime video se estreno hace poco la serie de Fallout, la plataforma de Amazon sorprendió esta vez con el estreno de una serie con todos los episodio, al mejor estilo de Netflix, algo que para muchos fue maravilloso, pero para otros como yo no tanto, quizás este cambio de estrenar una serie completa le a sido contraproducente.
Before expanding on this point it is good to define what this series is about, the first thing to know is that it is an adaptation of a series of video games developed by the company Bethesda, one of the most respectable in the industry, which to date has developed more than 10 Fallout games, all under the same premise of a post-apocalyptic world, but not necessarily related historically or continuity.
Personally I didn't have the opportunity to play any of their most famous games, the community usually says that Fallout New Vegas edition was the best of them all, and that the second season will be based on this game because of a wink that was given at the end of the first one. Of the games I tried the version for cell phones and although it is very simple, I was hooked for a few months and I always thought that the shelters were just that, shelters but thanks to the series I understood that they were not.
Antes de ampliar este punto es bueno definir de que trata esta serie, lo primero que hay que saber es que es una adaptación de una serie de videojuegos desarrollados por la compañía Bethesda una de las mas respetables del ramo, que hasta la fecha a desarrollado mas de 10 juegos de Fallout, todos bajo la misma premisa de un mundo post apocalíptico, pero que no necesariamente guardan relación histórica o continuidad.
Personalmente no tuve la oportunidad de jugar alguno de sus juegos mas famosos, la comunidad suele decir que fue la edición Fallout New Vegas el mejor de todos, y que la segunda temporada estará basada en este juego por un guiño que se dio al final de la primera. De los juegos probé la versión para teléfonos móviles y aunque es muy sencilla, me tuvo enganchado por unos cuantos meses y siempre creí que los refugios eran eso, refugios pero gracias a la serie entendí que no.
4 stories that come together quickly
Unrelated to any of the games, in Fallout we know the story of 4 characters 200 years after nuclear bombs were launched that killed much of humanity, we first meet Lucy, a shelter dweller who during the celebration of her arranged marriage with a supposed member of a neighboring shelter, are attacked and her father is kidnapped.

Sin relación a alguno de los juegos, en Fallout conocemos la historia de 4 personajes 200 años después de que fueran lanzadas bombas nucleares que acabaran con buena parte de la humanidad, conocemos primero a Lucy una habitante de refugio que durante la celebración de su matrimonio arreglado con un supuesto miembro de un refugio vecino, son atacados y su padre es secuestrado.
Then we meet Maximus, an aspiring member of a group known as the Sisterhood who live in a medieval style, with knights who have armor but are more like robotic suits. Maximus manages to become a knight's squire and together they are sent on a mission to catch a man who escaped from a scientific center.

Titus is a scientist of a group called The Enclave formed by scientists who experiment with animals and even humans and it is not known why they do it, but Titus is different and develops a kind of technology in secret until he is discovered and is forced to escape, becoming the target of search of all the other characters in the series.

Finally we meet Cooper Howard also known as The Ghoul who was once a renowned Hollywood actor and witnessed the end of the world and the fall of the bombs, but for some reason was transformed into a mutant, perhaps by radiation and has become almost immortal keeping at bay his complete transformation into an irrational being, while he dedicates himself to being a bounty hunter.
Por ultimo conocemos a Cooper Howard también conocido como The Ghoul quien una vez fue un reconocido actor de Hollywood y presencio el fin del mundo y la caída de las bombas, pero que por alguna razón se transformo en un mutante, quizás por la radiación y se ha vuelto casi que inmortal manteniendo a raya su completa transformación en un ser irracional, mientras se dedica a ser un caza recompensas.
Lucy decides to go to her father's rescue, going against all the rules of the shelter that functions as an almost perfect society, and decides to go to the surface to rescue her father, and in the midst of her efforts she crosses paths with Titu the scientist and then with the Ghoul and Maximus, who each in turn try to capture him.

A puzzle with pieces of 200 years of history.
Although the 4 characters come together very quickly, the series tells us at various times the story of each of them, there are many flashbacks that help us to put together a little of why the bombs happen and why the series takes a leap of 200 years into the future, as a society that seemed to be very evolved, became divided into factions with different objectives, where no one agrees to recover humanity.

Aunque los 4 personajes se juntan muy rápido, la serie nos cuenta en varios momentos las historia de cada uno de ellos, hay muchos flashbacks que nos sirven para armar un poco el porque ocurre lo de las bombas y porque la serie da un salto de 200 años en el futuro, como una sociedad que parecía estas muy evolucionada, paso a estar dividida en facciones con objetivos diferentes, donde nadie se pone de acuerdo para recuperar a la humanidad.
This big gap in the story works wonders for me, I really liked having to reconstruct the plot to understand why things happened, it has been a very entertaining experience because not playing any of the video games I have no idea why things are so, because clearly the series is full of references and winks to draw the attention of the gamer community, but for those who do not play it is just as fascinating.
Este vacío tan grande en la historia para mi funciona de maravilla, me gusto mucho el tener que reconstruir la trama para entender porque pasaron las cosas, a sido una experiencia muy entretenida porque al no jugar alguno de los videojuego no tengo la mas mínima idea de porque las cosas son así, porque claramente la serie esta llena de referencia y guiños para llamar la atención de la comunidad gamer, pero para quienes no lo jugamos resulta igual de fascinante.
Fallout offers a vivid story world, each of the four is fascinating and fun. I really like how Lucy loses her innocence when she learns that the surface is a chaotic world with no rules that does not respect humans, how the Ghoul seems to be a ruthless being but was once a good person and you must find out why, Maximus who fights for his dream of becoming a knight but must put morals aside to achieve it.
Fallout ofrece un mundo de historias vivas, cada una de las cuatro es fascinante y divertida. Me gusta mucho como Lucy pierde su inocencia al conocer que la superficie es un mundo caótico sin reglas que no respeta al ser humano, como el Ghoul parece ser un ser despiadado pero que alguna vez fue una buena persona y debes descubrir porque, Maximus el que lucha por su sueño de se caballero pero debe hacer la moral a un lado para lograrlo.
Prime Video's mistake
At the beginning of the publication I commented that having released the series with all its episodes I think it was counterproductive, I know there are people who are fans of having all the content to make a marathon and watch it all, but I think the magic of a good series is to have time to think about what you just saw, start making assumptions, talk with others about what we think will happen, etc.

Al principio de la publicación comentaba que el haber estrenado la serie con todos sus episodios creo que fue contraproducente, se que hay personas que son fans de tener todo el contenido para hacer un maratón y verlo todo, pero creo que la magia de una buena serie es tener tiempo de pensar en lo que acabas de ver, empezar hacer suposiciones, conversar con otros sobre lo que creemos que va a pasar, etc.
Movie-loving communities spend a whole week talking about a new episode, social media accounts are filled with posts about what happened, viewers are more attracted to a character as they review what happened, a lot of content can emerge in between, this dynamic has caused new series to emerge, and second seasons are longed for.

But despite this type of premiere, Fallout was able to have more viewers in the week of its premiere than Shogun, the series of the moment, however, we finished watching Fallout and after almost a week we had one episode of Shogun left, that took away the hype for Fallout and we moved it to the next series, something that could have been different, we would still be wondering how it will end.

Stories that close perfectly to open the way for others.
I think that all the plot arcs of the series close very well at the end of this first season, the vast majority of questions that you ask yourself at the beginning are answered, and each of the stories of the 4 characters has a closure but at the same time leaves the plot open to give continuity, with new questions that will begin to be answered in the second season.
Historias que cierran perfectamente para abrir paso a otras
Creo que todos los arcos argumentales de la serie cierran muy bien al final de esta primera temporada, la gran mayoría de preguntas que te planteas en un inicio son respondidas, y cada una de las historias de los 4 personajes tiene un cierre pero que deja al mismo tiempo la trama abierta para dar continuidad, con nuevas interrogantes que se comenzaran a responder en la segunda temporada.
Without having played the games, I knew thanks to the fans of the series that the scene at the end where a city is shown in the distance is New Vegas, where one of the most beloved games of the saga is developed by its community, but for me this scene was to see another city, but the series is so well built that I could quickly infer that it is a new place where we will have the answers to new questions, that is an indication of how well done this series is.
Sin haber jugado los juegos, supe gracias a los fans de la serie que la escena al final donde se muestra una ciudad a la distancia es New Vegas, lugar donde se desarrolla uno de los juegos de la saga mas queridos por su comunidad, pero para mi esta escena fue ver una ciudad mas, pero la serie esta tan bien construida que pude inferir rápidamente que es un nuevo lugar donde tendremos las respuestas a las nuevas interrogantes, eso es un indicativo de lo bien hecha que esta esta serie.

Yo llevo tres capítulos apenas y la verdad me está gustando bastante, se que es una adaptación pero se me parece mucho a Silo con algo de The Boys por el gore que tiene, guardando las distancias claro está. No sabría que tanto se acerca al videojuego pero la serie hasta para mi es espectacular. Como siempre Prime Video haciendo cosas bastante buenas.
La verdad que si el gore es como The Boys y la serie funciona muy bien sin la necesidad de haber jugado alguno de los juegos porque en mi caso no jugué ninguno y la disfrute, aunque si note que es una adaptación de un videojuego sobre todo en las escenas de disparos te das cuenta que son como la de u shooter.
Para mí estuvo bastante bien aceptable claro hay algunas cosas que se salen un poco de contexto pero en resumen si es bastante bueno.

Increíble tu reseña. Lo que comentas de que sacar todos los capítulos piensas que fue un error, no es así, tú lo estás viendo de tu lado como espectador y a pesar de que es una serie para que todo el público la pueda disfrutar y entender, yo diría que este hecho fue pensado más que todo para los fans que vienen siguiendo toda la serie del juego porque este es un juego muy popular y a pesar de que tiene tantos años su popularidad aún no ha bajado, así que la intención supongo era causar ese furor y tener un ranking alto porque todos los fans estarían dispuestos a verla en el primer instante
Hola gracias por leer, entiendo tu posición pero no creo que la serie sea un fan service, fue hecha pensado en todos, pero claro que funciona para un fan verla toda en una sola sentada, pero también un fan puede disfrutarla semana tras semana.
Si lo llevo al contexto de los video juegos, todos los juegos no salieron en un mismo año, Bethesda de acuerdo a la aceptación de un juego sacaba rápidamente el siguiente o le sacaba más dinero al que tenía éxito con un dlc, con esto digo que el pastel se disfruta mas en porciones.
Claro que se disfruta en porciones por qué crees que solo tiene 8 episodios y todo quedó a medias. Además, es solo una suposición solamente en el hecho de la liberación de todos los episodios, que sería por el rating
You should check out the games if you have the time. You'll see how much of a connection they have in terms of general themes and aesthetic. It's quite an impressive show for a video game one. Especially on the technical side with anamorphic lenses and 35mm film.
Yeah it's among my plans to play any one of the saga, I have always debated between 76 and New Vegas, people always recommend playing New Vegas, but I'm going to let the hype of the series pass because they went up a lot in price for being old games .
76 was genuinely despised for being a live service aimed at milking fans, it's crazy how much they managed to turn that sentiment with newcomers; I'd say stick with the actual games. If you don't mind the older ones, then start from there, if not, then 3 and then NV and 4.
