This weekend my friends and I spent in Stara Planina.
The place where we chose to spend the nights was on the southern slopes of Mount Hadji Dimitar and precisely in the old Buzludzha hut.
The lodge does not look big, but it actually has a large capacity - over 40 places.
The hut is located at an altitude of 1280m. and was built by volunteers in 1932 to 1936.
It was run by extremely hospitable lodgers who cooked very tasty meals and kept the lodge very tidy and clean.

That is why many pictures and quotes related to their history are hung on the walls of the canteen.
For camping lovers, in front of the hut there is a wonderful meadow with beautiful trees where many tents can be pitched. Some of our friends chose to camp there.
A fire was lit in the evening.
The hut is reached by an asphalted road, and in front of it there is a fountain with mountain water, from where many people come in cars to drink from this water.
Near the hut among the tall trees is the lob place of Hadji Dimitar. A monument was build here in 1961. sculpted from white Vratsa stone.
The names of the participants in the troop are written on stone tablets.
In winter, there is a lot of snow in this place, so there are several ski slopes around.
There are built stone paths along which you can reach the Buzludzha monument on foot.
Forget-me-nots and dozens of beautiful wild flowers were blooming in the meadows in front of the hut.
Our stay at Buzludzha hut was wonderful, and the places we visited around left us unforgettable memories.

Lovely place to camp out and visit, with old stories from the forgotten past. That hut is Tesla high up on the mountain!
