One of my favorite genres of reading are children's stories and the Brothers Grimm, have been a great controversy of literature for me.
My first investigations of literary genres came in high school, although I had already read many books of children's stories, I have always lived each story as I read it.
One of these stories has always caught my attention as well as others, but today I want to share with you my literary perception about this book titled: The Magic Piper.
The first time I read it was when I was eight years old, by then my reading curiosity was impressive and I loved to read any kind of books, but children's stories were the most chosen ones.
Reading about that beautiful German village called Hamelin, its situation with the rats and the arrival of that strange magic flute player, the breach of that deal and the irresistible melody of that flute left many questions.
I don't know if because I was that age, reading that book was not so pleasant for me, I didn't like the lack of honesty and much less what happened to those children in that small town.
For days I thought about the story, I remember returning the book the next day to the school library and I felt a little disappointed, because when I saw its title and chose the book I imagined another kind of story, perhaps with a happy ending.
The stories of the Brothers Grimm have always seemed to me, since I was a child, very close to reality, perhaps most of them with a somewhat deep ending or moral for children, but they are stories that catch you and invite you to read and perhaps to imagine a little more.
Yesterday my daughter was assigned a children's storybook to read digitally, because for now she is sick with allergies and she can pick up the physical book once she returns to school.
The book is the "Pied Piper of Hamelin" and after a few years, today I have to read this book again with my daughter who also has some questions about the book once we have finished it and she has expressed them in her little reading comprehension essay.
The truth is that I found the book digitally without illustrations, which did not please me much, because for me a children's book should be illustrated, that helps a lot with the theme of imagination.
At the end after reading I have been thinking the same as when I read it for the first time, yes, this story is based on a true story or fictional ... and being the first option seems to me a tragic and very painful end.
As a child I always imagined the flute player different from how he was described in the story, maybe really so much color in his costume and so much melodious music hid a great secret, this time we could enjoy the melody and the audio thanks to the app.
Thinking about that melody and trying to guess what really happened with those 120 children of Hamelin, is a difficult story for children to assimilate, especially because the place and scenery they describe are real.
But like all readers, curiosity and imagination come alive with each story and my little girl and I have enjoyed this great children's read.
Moral learned: keep your agreements and do not go back on your word, because if you don't, the consequences could be dire.

Libro: el flautista de Hamelin
Uno de mis géneros favoritos de la lectura son los cuentos infantiles y los hermanos Grimm, han sido una gran controversia de la literatura para mí.
Mis primeras investigaciones de géneros literarios surgieron en el bachillerato, aunque ya habían leído muchos libros de cuentos infantiles, siempre he vivido cada relato mientras lo leo.
Uno de estos cuentos siempre ha llamado mi atención al igual que otros, pero hoy les quiero compartir mí percepción literaria sobre este libro titulado: el flautista mágico.
La primera vez que lo leí fue a mis ocho años, para entonces mi curiosidad lectora era impresionante y me encantaba leer cualquier tipo de libros, pero los cuentos infantiles eran los más escogidos.
Leer sobre ese hermoso pueblo Alemán llamado Hamelin, su situación con las ratas y la llegada de aquel extraño flautista mágico, el incumplimiento de aquel trato y la melodía irresistible de aquella flauta dejan muchas interrogantes.
No sé si por tener esa edad, leer ese libro para mí no fue tan grato, no me gustó la falta de honestidad y mucho menos lo que sucedió con aquellos niños de aquel pequeño pueblo.
Por días pensaba en la historia, recuerdo haber devuelto el libro al día siguiente a la biblioteca escolar y sentía una pequeña decepción, pues al ver su titulo y escoger el libro me imagine otro tipo de historia, quizás con un final feliz.
Los cuentos de los hermanos Grimm siempre desde muy pequeña me han parecido historias muy cercanas a lo real, quizás en su mayoría con desenlace o moralejas algo profundas para edades infantiles, pero son historias que atrapan y te invitan a leer y quizás a imaginar un poco más.
El día de ayer a mi hija le asignaron un libro de cuentos infantil para leer de forma digital, porque por ahora ella está enferma con alergia y el libro en físico lo puede retirar una vez regrese a clases.
El libro es el "flautista de Hamelin" y después de algunos años, hoy me toca volver a leer este libro con mi hija quien también, tiene algunas interrogantes sobre el libro una vez que lo hemos terminado y los a plasmado en su pequeño ensayo de comprensión lectora.
La verdad encontré en digital el libro sin ilustraciones lo cual no me agrado mucho, porque para mí un libro infantil debería estar ilustrado, eso ayuda mucho con el tema de la imaginación.
Al final después de leer he estado pensando al igual que cuando lo leí por primera vez, sí, este cuento es basado en una historia real o ficticia? y siendo la primera opción me parece un final trágico y muy doloroso.
De niña siempre imaginé al flautista diferente a como lo describían en la historia, quizás realmente tanto color en su traje y tanta música melodiosa escondía un gran secreto, está vez pudimos disfrutar de la melodía y el audio gracias a la app.
Pensar en aquella melodía e intentar adivinar que paso realmente con aquellos 120 niños de Hamelin, es una historia difícil de asimilar para los niños, sobre todo porque el lugar y escenario que describen son reales.
Pero como toda lectora la curiosidad y la imaginación toman vida con cada relato y mi niña y yo hemos disfrutado de está gran lectura infantil.
