Traveling to other places is my way of distressing or keeping myself relaxed and free from all worries. An avenue for new learning, and adventure in life. That's why traveling to other provinces in the Philippines and even outside the Philippines is one of my goals in life. So when one of my ate in the BCBP family and the unit leader of our AGM invited me to go with one of our BCBP ate to the Province of Leyte, I answered yes right away. Many times I wanted to visit the said province because I have my uncle, aunties, and cousins who are also living in the province. If I have a chance I will visit them, for they are the owner of the land which I bought 10 years ago. So on this trip, I will now have a chance to find the route in going to their place. I'm just thankful to my husband for supporting me and allowing me to this trip because I'm not prepared financially. He said maybe it's time for me to relax for a couple of weeks of being in the city and just get focused on my work and attend to some school tasks every day.

All About Leyte

Leyte is the oldest and largest province in the Visayas known for its fertile and productive land resources, historic records, and tradition. The province is also known for Kalanggaman Island, the landing of Mac Arthur, the Santo Nino Museum, and the well-known San Juanico Bridge, the longest bridge before the CCLEX bridge in Cebu City was built.

How I went there

From our hometown, we traveled to Polambato Port around 10:00 pm to buy tickets and wait for the Roro Ship to depart from the port going to the Province of Leyte. It was already 1:00 am when we departed from Polambato Port Bogo City, Cebu. There were two big roro ships on the port when we arrived. One was bound for Masbate Province and the other one for Leyte Province. We boarded the Aznar Shipping bound for Leyte by midnight. The ship departed from the port by 1:00 am and arrived at the Port of Palompon, Leyte by 3:20 am. It took almost 2 hours and 20 minutes our travel. From the port of Palompon, Leyte, we supposedly rode a ceres bus that boarded also on the RORO ship but we were late in going down the ship so we just rode a van going to Barangay Lemon, Leyte to wait for the brother-in-law of my ate as our sundo going to Toctoc, Leyte, Leyte the place where we would stay. From Lemon, I saw a van going to Ormoc City and Tacloban City. So, I realized it's easier for us to travel going to Tacloban and Ormoc. When the brother-in-law of our ate arrived, we took a ride immediately to her hometown until we arrived at exactly 6:30 in the morning.

We felt at home when we had at my ates home since they were very hospitable. We took our coffee first and relaxed for a while before having our first tour of their hometown.

That's all for now and see you on my next blog for my new adventure in the province of Leyte.
