Rational and Irrational Thinking

When it comes to the type of thinking, a distinction is often made between a rational or irrational way of thinking and rational thinking refers primarily to the ability to approach things with reason and to look at them logically or analytically. In this form, people detach themselves from all things that can influence the decisions and this includes all things that can change the way of thinking and approach certain topics with pure reason and here you must mention that this must always be considered very individually because every person deals with certain informations differently and there are many areas where a rational way of thinking is of enormous importance and and a well-known example is in the economic sector.

Also in other areas where wrong decisions can have a negative impact, it is important to think rationally, but it is also important to know that some decisions that take place at an emotional level do not always have to be bad and there are numerous more factors that can influence a rational way of thinking and this often includes certain values or ideologies. An irrational way of thinking is characterized by illogical decisions and there are numerous factors that can trigger this way of thinking and a huge influencing factor is fear which leads to the fact that the emotions are strongly influenced and one tends to make wrong decisions and also psychological changes often lead to the fact that one does not think rationally. An irrational action can relate to thinking, speaking, acting and refers to all forms that contradict a rational pattern and it often goes hand in hand with uncertainty and people make the wrong decisions and distance from certain facts and rely only on emotions. Often this also changes the buying behavior and also in the financial world such as on the stock exchange you often see this irrational form of thinking and distortions in the way of thinking lead to countless misjudgments which are characterized by short-term and irrational decisions. There are numerous influences which can change this way of thinking and here social influences and mass psychology are often added and a good example in which you see an irrational way of thinking is the fear of missing out effect and if you want to learn more about it, you will find a contribution here.
