Art finds a way!

What’s up, Hive? I’m sitting down early to talk about the work I managed to do today. I guess this’ll be a freewrite with some photography to support the text. These are good for me. It’s an opportunity to do a journal entry of where life is at, and right now, it’s a struggle. I know it is for most of us. Bear markets are brutal, and lasting. This one is no exception. I’m feeling the financial pinch a lot and if it wasn’t for @vermillionfox, we’d be in crisis mode. I’ve been chasing down grants on EOS, booking what I can as far as shoots for Viva Las Vegas in April and of course, blogging here on Hive.

For a while, I was doing NFT’s on @nftshowroom and although they didn’t make enough money to live off of, they were fun. I was getting to draw what I wanted and making some income while supporting the platform and bringing value. I received a grant last May to do a zine for the EOS community called Immutable Realms. Once the outline of the zine was hammered out, I had a few illustrations I had to finish for the layout. One was a space monkey for the EdenOnEOS community and in addition to appearing in the publication, @lovejoy suggested that I also do limited art prints as well.

I had to pick up physical copies of Immutable Realms this afternoon. This was an additional milestone for the seasons that I’ve been trying to get funding for the zine. The print files are now available for free for anyone to download, print and distribute any where in the world. I wanted to have a stack of these issues to give a visual example of how good they actually look. While I was picking those copies up, I had the print store run off 50 copies of 11 x 17” space monkeys, then went straight to @caffetto to sign and number them.

After I submit my camping proposal tomorrow for the current season of Pomelo, I’ll be spending time updating the website to make a sales page for the prints. It has me thinking about returning to just doing prints or NFT’s [maybe both] for Hive as well. Obviously, in hopes of making money, but just a return to doing the thing I really love. If I could be at the coffee shop all day creating art like this and not have to travel and shoot, I would take that deal any day. Sometimes hard times force you into situations that ultimately emerge as pure providence.

I think that will be a beautiful decision

Thanks, @cransi! I appreciate the encouragement!

My pleasure

It sure does

Very cool. It looks like it turned out awesome! This bear market has been brutal. I think mostly because I finally got a real taste of what the bull market is like last time. In 2017 I was just getting into crypto, so it didn't have the impact that the last one did.

It's been bad, @bozz, but not as hard as 2017 - 2020. That was the worst for me. The worst of it was at the end which dovetailed nicely with the pandemic. A lot of good came through for those that didn't give up, including have a chance to work with you at @facingsofficial. I'm just going to keep building and working until things turn around. A lot of the art and creativity is tied directly to my mental and emotional health, so I kind of just need to do it regardless.

Fingers crossed we don't have to wait very much longer. Plus like you said, hopefully next time there isn't a pandemic on top of it all!

Illustration turn out awesome, cool designs, its true things are not easy going now days, prices are going up and salaries not so much but as long as you keep pushing at some point there will be results

Thanks, @skiptvads! Man, and I just watched BTC take a $2K hit. We're going to be feeling pain for quite some time, I'm afraid.
