The negativity is because he is doing the exact same thing a few other whales are doing that are destroying the platform.
Are some people posting racist stuff that is offensive, Yes, and I do not agree with that either, I have posted against that many times, and have lost a ton of rep and payouts because of the constant flagging from both sides (including haejins whale supporters, even for things such as some research on coins, which was definitely not a flagable offence)
What people fail to notice is the constant upvotes by the same whale accounts in his favour, some within a few seconds of a 20 minute video. So we are now rewarding content blindly? That is the issue that most people have with him and it is a valid one.
I have no skin the this game. My original intent for this site was to create content, but after seeing how this system works were you basically have to collude and cheat the system because you have people like haejin and his nemesis bernie raping the rewards. Then I thought hey I'll just post some info on the things I'm interested in, but then you get attacked and flagged for disagreeing with the original poster. The funny thing is I go back to the posts I had, and I ended being right on pretty much all of them, yet haejin, his friends starjuno and Rancho, felt the need to flag me to death for suggesting things like people should look deeper into Bern coin because because there have been no posts for 6 months in their forum and there block explorer has had no transactions for months. Or the countless times I posted against his bullish views on alts even though his btc TA had finally turned bearish. he was late to the party there, and yet still posted contradicting TA and you look back on all those bullish TA suggestions and he is down a ton, but he got rewarded tens of thousands, yet me and some other posters (the non spam and racist ones) get flagged to death, insulted, and threatened.
If he was getting his payouts from people that actually view his content, I would have no problem. It is just sad that you have other people posting great content but their rewards turn to shit because you have several whales abusing the system
This is why purely democratic systems don't work......mob rule. The idea of Steemit is good but in practice it is not a workable model. I don't see it lasting long term in it's current form.
