MIT project for Litecoin August 1st, REAL or FAKE?

I was doing some research this morning to see what the speculation was on the MIT project. Even Charlie from Litecoin responded saying that he does not know what it might be, but that it's release on Aug 1st is dubious date and guessed it had to do with the Lightning Network project.

I've also seen a few forums where people were claiming that student can get their own MIT URL and that this is just a few students playing a game of pump and dump. Basically acculate Litecoin and then sell into the August 1st hype.

Does anyone have any actual information as to is the August 1st date is relevant for Litecoin (yes I know Bitcoin already) and what it might be? I'm looking at buying more Litecoin so it would be helpful.

I did find a document on what a Lightening Network is if anyone wanted to have a read. It's a white paper on Bitcoin and how the LN could enable micropayments for the entire globe. It's worth a read if your a techy nerd like me.

Are you suggesting that I follow Charlie777pt?

I think you should. It´s an interesting account.

hmm not sure, I will keep my eye on this post to see what others say. Also following you bud.

There is even an MIT countdown page to August 1st so very curious. Following you now as well.

Hi, thank you for sharing, I'm following you ^^

Following you as well now.

It sure looks like a fake. If there would be some real technology behind this then i don't see the reason to hide it. But on the other hand, being mysterious can produce some hype and publicity and they can expose the technology they are building (if they are) after they get enough attention.

Keep us posted if you'll be watching them, i'll be following you.
